If your new to deadpool comics and are used to his slapstick antics during the daniel way run 2008-2012 you dont know deadpool. While deadpool is a funny character daniel way just wrote him as a moron with no depth but that is not deadpool. if you go back to his first on going, aside from the two mini series in 93 and 94, that started in 97 with joe kelly Deadpool is a very very dark character. He is an imbodiement of the sad clown. He has cancer, his whole body is cancer thats why he regenerates, not because he has a cool healing factor but he has a scurdge of disease that plauges him and keeps him alive. He is merely a host of the disease which is a metaphor for comics all together as Deadpool knows he is a comic book character putting on a show for the audience like he knows he only lives to keep the cancer alive. Ultimately he wants nothing more than to die, as he is in constant pain. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe is the most faithful adaptation of deadpool since deadpools first ongoing was canceled.

I've never been able to put that into words when I try to explain Deadpool to my friends, so thank you. I'm so glad someone else can see how dark his character is.

i liked it ,it was dumb fun but...

the ending butchered the fourth wall really bad,it's usually cool when it's subtle ("your advantage is popularity") but it was just too much on thiat part

i also think they could've stretched it a bit,he deals with the marvel universe so quickly it almost makes you wonder how noone else had did it before him

the whole thing seemed like an inside joke when it felt like it could be much more, the part above for example as simply amazing

Your second point was my entire problem with the entire series. He killed everyone so easily that it didn't really make sense. Prime example, Spider-Man's spider sense should've kicked long before Deadpool could shoot him.

take it as a lucky shot, there are an infinite number of marvel universes which means there is an infinite number of universes where he went mad, which means there is at least 1 universe where he had a series of flukes one after the other sucessfully killing every hero/villain in succession

it might sound dumb but my brain has this obssesion with trying to fill plot holes

The explanation makes sense, in a cosmic sort of way, it's just unnecessary. I get that they weren't trying to write the best comic series known to man or anything, but that was really lazy writing. The only thing I really liked about the series was the Taskmaster stepping in.

i'm just getting into him,but i really liked seeing his more "depressing" repressed side on this series, for me that was the highlight (i dont know if it was shown in other comics of his cause i'm REALLY very early on his comics) and it makes me sad it wasnt expanded further,it really made him into an even more likeable and relatable character for me

I haven't read it yet, but Deadpool Dead may have what you're looking for. It's basically him trying to kill himself.

Just letting OP know it isn't deadpool that says that... It's some mind control guy I believe.

yeah I remember reading it a few weeks back and there was some bloke talking to him through his thoughts (Like King Kai on Dragonball Z) and his speech boxes were like the ones in the content.

he killed the psycho character early in the series,i believe that was the character that unintentionally brought up his repressed self up or the "thing" that was talking to him

the way i saw it he just had multiple personalities caused by the trauma, but i might be wrong

I cant be bothered to read through the comic again so Imma take your word for it. Sounds reasonable anyway.
