**** Tomb of giants and New Londo. Your forced to use the lamp and they love putting giant skeletons around every ******* corner that CAN KNOK YOU OFF SO YOU FALL TO YOUR DEATH!!! and New Londo is by far the worse. I have never played a zone so terrifying because the ghost would come out from EVERYWHERE!!!
The Tomb of Giants has an awesome introduction.
At the speed I was walking, just as the name popped up and said "Tomb of Giants," distracting me for a second, the skeleton lunged at me and one hit me. I have never seen a game area introduced more descriptively.
As for New Londo, just stock up on transient curses. I find the ghost mansion harder than any of the Darkwraith.
Dark Souls was so awesome... I really hope their corporate whoring doesn't screw Dark Souls 2.
The ghosts are annoying but not impossible, the Darkwraiths are cake, but the Four Kings are bordering on unfair... I'm SL 208 and in NG3, I do 700 damage on a hit to them but I can't seem to kill more than two
Actually, if you have really strong armor, like Havel's, you can just stand there and tank the Four Kings' attacks and heal when necessary. They'll do little damage and your poise will keep you standing. Just two hand your best weapon and have at it. And don't worry about how heavy your armor is, as rolling won't be used anyway.
Good luck.
I have a full Black Knight set (all maxed out in upgrades) with a Child's Mask, and I use a +5 Greatsword of Artorias and Grass Crest Shield. I've been twohanding my sword, but it barely makes a dent in their health and I can never seem to get the first one down before the second shows up
Maybe you're just underleveled and don't do enough damage that way. Or are you on NG+?
I can't help you past what I already said, though, simply because I'm not that great at the game.
Even on NG3 i never had any problems with the four kings. The whole fight is mostly about killing one as fast as possible before the next one appears. If you're at the stage when you have more than two kings against you at one time, you're pretty ****** .
Yeah I know and that strategy hasn't failed me on the previous two fights with them, but this one I just can't seem to pull off. It's possible I just need to spam VIT levels or something, although I was under the impression having 58 VIT and doing 700 damage on a hit would work
I think your problem is there. GoA is a good weapon, but it only has a Dex parameter of C, which is pretty low in NG's. If you get another weapon with a higher dex parameter you'll probably be fine.
I did some research and made myself a +15 Great Scythe, which is apparently one of the best dexterity build weapons in the game. I tested it for damage in PVP, and more often than not it's one or two shotted invaders, doing about 1000 on a hit for me when I hold it with two hands and have the Darkmoon buff on it.
I saw someone do that same thing while watching a bloodstain. Right at Firelink shrine no less. He just walked along a wall, then fell down a little funnel thing and went ploop.
Plesioth was bad, bit he only had 1 attack with a bigass hitbox (hip check) the others were pretty avoidable. ALL of Tigrex's attacks have a range between " **** you, Hunter" and "Bitch, you gon get raped!"
I've been playing this game since the day it came out, I know every area by heart and Im on ng+23, even though it stops scaling after 7, anyway, Im not braggin or anything, Im actually quite sad. I miss playing the game for the first time, its not very fun anymore.
PvP is a love/hate relationship. The other day I had a fight with an invader in Ando that lasted 15 beautiful minutes. Too bad some other faggot had to come invade and make it a 1v2. Sometimes you get the only backstabbers that piss me off or the guys that drag you into mobs. Other than that it's a pretty amazing PvP game. (That feel when you'll never be dropped into Firelink Shrine for the first time.)
Eh that's another thing, I invade by myself in the forest and always get 2v1, I host by myself in the forest and its always two people invading at once teaming up, but I have so much experience, i even know how to buff a Falchion to where I do 780 damage per hit. Quite boring, but I still do it. Even made some videos on youtube
************* .
Four Kings.
Is NOT **** to **** with.
Jesus Christ on new game #2 and at Gwyn now but seriously, took me at least 10 tries minimum to kill Four Kings with summons.
I'm guessing first run through? Not NG+? That's probably why. I had no trouble with those ******* first try. But once I hit NG+ the scaling got really hard to get through.
Like I said, 1 king is no trouble at all. In the begging I'd always take no damage and think I was doing good, then another king would pop up before I kill the 1st. It's just every other boss in Dark Souls is not timed, you can go as defensive as you want and won't be penalized for it. Now I needed a completely different style of play that I wasn't building my character for lol.
Once you hit NG+ you just can't do it. The scaling is just too much. I just play WAYY to defensively and take too long to kill a king. Plus it's actually 5/6 kings and the fight just kills me. I can do it easily with another competent summon but god knows have those kids just don't know how to play. Once there are two kings up at any time you're pretty much ****** . Plus I play a Vit/Int/Dex build with pretty low endurance so now I'm rocking Elite Knight gear with a couple variants depending on the situation.
Aah. I always did it that way on my first playthrough. I'm doing an NG+ right now, with silver knight gloves, mask of the child, black leather chest, and giants pants. 2H a +15 claymore. I had no problem with the kings. Just rolled out of the way when they would try to attack, and with the mask and grass crest shield on my back, I had plenty of stamina.
Like I said before, I just play way too god damn defensively. Kings are the only boss in DKS where you are timed and have to go full offensive or you just can't do it. It's never that a single King killed me, it was I took too long killing him and another game from behind me and I couldn't do anything.
Yeah, I should've gone a claymore build but I wanted to get that sick ass bleed from the Iaito and Pricilla's dagger. Sadly, my build works beautifully for most bosses but King's don't bleed or stagger so it was kind of useless. Lucky my pyromancy stuff does a lot of damage too. Whenever I see ghosts running around they always have claymores haha, haven't seen anyone with a Iaito or Uchigatana.
Yeah, I usually use the claymore to destroy poise. Like on Gwyn. But other than that, I don't use it much :P
Usually using the Obsidian Greatsword or Great Scythe.
