Dodge to the Right and get trapped behind pillars

Stay in the center and die immediately.

If you don't have the timing to counter his swing your best bet is to run to the pillars on the right and loop around past him and the dogs up the stairs.

Do your best to take care of the dogs while staying away from the Capra. Once their gone you can just keep running up the stairs to make him follow you then stand on the overhang wait for him to fall off then shoot him, blast him, or fall and stab him.

Rinse and repeat.

That's how I've always done it.

Hrm, don't know if I can be maneuverable enough to weave through the pillars. My guy's a little weighed down by the Demon's Great Hammer.

Damn! you just got to the Capra demon and you're using the great hammer?

Do your stats even support that?

Also, it's hard to weave past the pillars if you are locked on to the capra demon. It's best to keep your camera free until you get past him and into the open.

Yeah, I've been farming those knights to get the Baldur set, so I've had plenty of souls. Currently using the great hammer two-handed, though, so no shield, but it's fun to smash shit into the ground.

My other strategy would be to get a greatshield and get past him with pure defense to get to the stairs, but thats not gonna work for you.

Iron Flesh would let you do that but you can only get that AFTER killing the Capra demon and getting the key. Unless you have the Skeleton Key.

Run up the stairs and kill the dogs.

Wait until he goes up the stairs and jump down. Hit him a few times when he jumped down.

I wanted to see how fast I would run without clothes, so I wanted to go to a seemingly safe area to do it

scariest boss in the game...hes actually a joke...especially if you use the two phantoms as distractions near him.

i'm a bit stuck on smough & ornstein atm :/ they'd be no problem on there own but together they keep getting me.

I found Orenstein and Smough to be the 3rd easiest boss in the game, I have never been beaten by them. If you're struggling that much, summon Solaire an possibly another phantom, and get them to attack Orenstein, then kill Smough, shouldn't be too difficult one on one, fighting Ornestein second is easier.

I found Priscilla to be more difficult than O and S, but even then she's fairly easy if you soot her with an arrow.

Every boss is easy once you know their pattern. The game is difficult because people don't know the patterns. Once you know it, you can beat the game naked.

Apart from bed of chaos, that boss is cheap as hell. It's the only boss I've had any real trouble with, other times I've died it's been due to my own stupidity. (Like against the 4 kings, I tried to switch my rings not realising that it kills you)

I remember fighting them. I summoned phantoms over and over... but in the end I had no humanity and had to take them on alone... that feel when I beat them completely alone.

They were pretty tough. I was lucky enough to get 2 summons off on them.

I think they are a fun fight. Are you using heavy or light armor? can you roll perfectly?

I'm using black iron armor but the ring that increases the load capacity so i can roll ok. I focus on Smough first but i usually get caught by Orestien while i attack him. also his charge attack keeps getting me. I use the lightning spear on him with my other weapon being the zweihander.

I remember one is weak to fire and the other is weak to electricity. then I think depending on who you kill first their weakness shifts.

I remember one of my friends used the darkwood ring (whatever the ninja flip ring was called) and got good results out of that. Maybe try lighter armor?

I assume it's smough thats weak to lightning since Ornsteins spear is a lightning type. i guess i just need to keep trying. I've killed smough twice but then super Saiyan awakening mode orestein got me with his unblockable implailing stab.

only way to win the fight is to abuse the poor smough mecanic and keep a eye on ormstein

when smough charge roll against him right before he smash up, ormstein not fucking around? hit him low or kill (prefer low as smough is easiest when they super charge)

smough fucking around with pillar or ormstein jump from otherside of rom with his spear charge, try fence ormstein with few hits (but be carefull, he faster to retaliate)

fight is simple as always keep eye on both and learn their moveset, take sometime but it is a great and worthy fight to be called a boss fight

don'tforget you can beat ormstein to low--> kill smough--->super sayin ormstein low hp

ormstein is just a pain to take last as you forced to hit and run (if you use a slow 2h I just say GL)

The first time I killed Smough and Ornstein I did it without any summoning partner.
It takes a bit of patience, but all you need to do is kite them around the cathedral, and when ornstein does his charge and is separated from his fat shit partner, you lay into him.
Use pillars to keep smough walking around them

If you are standing right in front of smough when he does his overhead hammer attack or his sweeping hammer attack, it won't hit you and it leaves him open for punishment.

They do restore their health when you beat one.
The best option (in my opinion) is to focus on Ornstein first. Since he moves much faster than Smough, you can separate the two much easier. Then, when Smough goes super, he can be trapped behind the pillars and beaten easily.
Smough is almost a joke, even in super form. But Super Ornstein is a nightmare. I have upwards of 1500 hours on Dark Souls, and he still gives me trouble sometimes.

don't you get the kit of the one you kill last though? if thats the case I'd much prefer ornsteins stuff.

That's true, I was just suggesting the easiest way.
If you must fight Super Ornstein, ranged will be your friend. Ornstein is likely to punish you in melee range, so if you have access to spells/arrows/items, use them against Super Ornstein.

Dark Souls is one of my favorite games. As difficult as it can be, perseverance is key. I get great personal reward beating a single boss in dark souls. If you do play, don't give up! Sometimes a fresh look at a hard portion is all you need. Also there's a great Dark Souls/Demon Souls community to offer advice and support

I loves me some hard games, but i didnt find demon souls or dark souls fun, I can only spend so much time rolling around blocking before i go back to playing bullet hells. Also being camped for 3 hours by some guy also soured it.

Dark Souls is a fantastic game, if you don't mind a challenge. It's very fair, and very fun if you get into it. Expect to have to ask for help, though; they don't go out of their way to explain anything beyond the basic controls to you.

I get frustrated at games VERY easily, but I've almost never gotten angry at Dark Souls. When I die in Dark Souls, I don't feel like the game has screwed me, I feel like it was my fault. I made a mistake, and I learned from that mistake. It's so much fun to go through the game and learn everything you can. I guarantee you can play through the game 5 times and find new things on your fifth playthrough.

I was very skeptical of the game before I bought it. I thought "A game that can only boast being hard? Must be terrible." I would slap myself for saying that now. Great game, install as soon as possible.

Agreed. In that regard, Dark Souls felt like a throw back to me. If you don't understand the game, it's going to take a while to beat. If you do, you can beat it in under an hour.
I have to say, though, high END really helped against Sif. He's really the only boss I have trouble with.
