archers were never really a problem for me... sure the first time was a pain, but then again, so was everything else. the rafters were always the killer.
Ren and Stimpy are basically the high-point of any run now. I managed to OHKO Ornstein with a moveswapped +5 BKGA and RTSR
The rafters ******* brutalized me on my first playthrough. I didn't understand what people meant when they said Dks was rage inducing until I hit that god-forsaken section. The jump at the end if you're speed-running is still a butt-clencher, no matter how many times I do it.
after 1000+ hours of this game i finally manned up and got over it. it feels so good to finally overcome the one part of the game that used to strike fear into the deepest parts of my soul
Ah, Ornstein and Smough a.k.a. Biggie Smalls, Fatboy Slim, Mario and Luigi, Sonic and Robotnik, Oreo and Smores or (my favourite) Super Londo Brothers...I'm actually fighting them right now, but I still have troubles to put them down... Probably because I'm a scrub, who should git gud...
If you equip a shield and run up towards the archers as fast as you can(don't wear heavy gear when doing this, no point) and then rush the one on the right, you can usually spam him off the edge with light attacks before the one on the left destroys you. After that you can either double back and handle the other one, or say **** it and go on without killing the other one.
Personally, I always dash towards the one on the left, possibly taking an arrow in the back if I'm unlucky, and take him down (a large part of the top half of the ledge he's in is behind a tower, so the right archer can't hit you). Then I move towards the right one. It's a bit slower, but quite safe if you get past the first step.
I focus on getting out of there as quickly as possible, so I always go right first. My memory may be failing me, but at a certain angle the left archer can't hit you if you go right. I rely on sound for dodging the arrows which come at me from the back and it tends to work decently(it's very loud when they release an arrow).
Whatever works best though, the archers are a really easy section as long as you play it safe and know exactly what you intend to do by the time you're rushing them.
Getting invaded time and time again there probably made me the PvP warrior I am now. I'm not saying I'm invincible, but dying to invaders over and over and over and over while dodging those goddamn axes made me pretty ******* good at predicting moves and dodging accurately. I hated PvP in Dark Souls before I beat Sens, afterward I just accepted it as part of the game. It was eye opening, and also difficult as **** .
