FeeFieFoe (02/23/2015) [-] peeve is an overrated sack of casul, maybe back in demon soul days he was a pretty cool guy to chill with, but when the dark souls dlc patch came around, all he did was run to npc enemies and heal, parrying isn't even that hard, in fact its a big crutch in pvp, it doesn't take much ''skill'' and its pretty cheap considering how much damage it does and being invincible while doing it, plus he backstab fishes like crazy. of course im talking about the first dark souls and those days are long gone and no one cares about dark souls 2, so my words are meaningless but I stand by them, he blocked me for asking why he has to run to the tree enemies so much. plus that whole unlocked on bow shooting isn't that hard either, obviously the people who cant do it are amazed by it, but the people who can know its not that great.

I absolutely hated 4 hours and 23 minutes of this game.
The 4 hours and 23 minutes it took to grind those two ******* Channelers in the Dukes Archive for a single god damn Channelers Trident.
Seriously.
Whoever decided the drop rate on that thing, he is the guy that really knows how to make games that torture the gamers.

A friend where I used to work suggested the game to me. I wasnt going to get it, but the store had a glitch in the system and all games were buy one get one free, so I ended up snagging it with about 10 other games, it was on a friday, too. I played it for at least 9 hours that weekend, but quit when I couldn't make it to the second bonfire past firelink.
Turns out, I had been trying to go to the catacombs right from the ******* start, for nearly eight ******* hours. Just bashing my head against the wall trying to kill all those skeletons. I hadn't known there were two other ways you could go, from firelink. It wasn't all bad, I got pretty decent at fighting because of that. It's now my favorite game, I'm playing through all three souls games now in anticipation for bloodborne.

undeadmaus (02/23/2015) [-] I recently started playing and I just reached Undead Parish but I am having control issues. I play on pc with an xbox controller and I am having problems like if I try to defend after a hit, the character will raise his shield for a split second and then make another hit. Sometimes he hits and cartwheels back for whatever reason and other times he kicks when I mean to hit. Speaking of kicks, I looked up how to do it because I couldn't figure it out, but even after seeing the control input, he still won't do it, except for those random times. Is this a common issue? Is there a fix to this?

To raise your shield it's LB (Left Button).
What you're describing "will raise his shield for a split second and then make another hit" looks like you're using the LT (Left Trigger) to parish...
For kicks, you have to move left joystick in the direction you want to kick and press RB (Right Button) at the same time. Sometimes you'll fail and perform a normal attack (RB). Also direction + RT (Right Trigger) will perform a different hard attack (jumped, onward, special...).

undeadmaus (02/26/2015) [-] No I am using RB and I know the difference between parrying and defending, it's just some weird glitch or input lag. and apparently to perform a kick or jump attack I have to let go of the stick and then push it forward at the same time while pressing RB, meaning I need precise timing if I want to carry forward momentum from running or walking because it essentially means I have to stop.
