Apparently I was told that all the honorable battles take place in the Cathedral of Blue, down in the rat hole and the bell towers, it is a madhouse.
I once spent a couple minutes getting myself a snack, and while I was busy, I got backstabbed by some jerk that didn't wait.
I am slightly ashamed to say that I am a bell tower invader. They give you titanite chunks for each kill, so that is why I do it.

The whole concept of Dark Souls 2 is to make it extremely hard to survive if you decide to do it offline which forces the player to co-op or pvp and I for one support this new direction.
To join the Sentinels of Blue co-op with a person using your regular white soapstone and help with defeating a boss. I helped others with the Old Dragon-Slayer and earned **** load of souls and tokens of fidelity. Present 1 token of fidelity to the guy in the Cathedral of Blue and you're good to go.

Well glad I don't get invaded a whole lot then, except for in the Belfry towers but eh, I'm not really there anymore. Sometimes I go to Doors of Pharros or Tomb of Saints to get me some Lockstones but that's about the PvP I get. Rest I do is coop.

I have a Dark Mastodon Halberd +10.
It kills every opponent in 2-3 hits, and it stunlocks beautifully.
I only picked it because of the A rating in strength, but now it has a B rating because of the Dark modifier I put on it. It still deals about 540 damage with each hit, though.
Also tried doing a caestus build, but I was not nearly as successful.

If you are into just recklessly slicing through their shield, then you are going to love the Broken Straight Sword.
I remember reading a Reddit post on how it consumes basically no stamina, so you can constantly whack at their shields until they die, with no stopping.

Maybe it is because I used Longsword in every Souls game, but it is just too vanilla for me.

Well, take heart, friend! As I said, the weapon enchantment spells aren't as strong in DS2 without building around them. Most of their damage comes from enhancing the respective damage type the weapon already does. Like, using Sunlight Blade on a weapon that doesn't have lightning damage already is basically a waste. Also, as far as I know, such spells don't scale with their required stats.

if it's red then they are invading you for loot and fame, so if they bow then that just makes it easier for you to cleave their face appart

if it's a gray phantom (for covenant invasions) then it's on you for you have tread on the halowed grounds of which they are seeking to protect
if you get invaded by a blue phantom then you're in the wrong and thats why they're invading you

if it's red then they are invading you for loot and fame, so if they bow then that just makes it easier for you to cleave their face appart

if it's a gray phantom (for covenant invasions) then it's on you for you have tread on the halowed grounds of which they are seeking to protect

Nope, haven't sinned.

Oh I know them ******. Dem fancy brothers of blood with their cracked red eye orbs.

Ah yes.. the holy rat's ass and the crazy gnome's family jewels.

i also have some lore-reason for why even bell ceeper covenant people get invaded in the towers... it's because it's halowed ground and only high ranking members of the covenant are allowed there unless you are there to fend off trespassers

Admittedly I go to doors of pharros or grave of saints to be "invaded" so that I can get lockstones.

i love getting invaded by magic users... the moment i get all up in their face they dont know what hit 'em and they cant get far enough away to use their powerfull spells and the moment they begin casting i smash their face with my falchion +10... i might change to a diferent weapon as according to this farfire.darksoulsii.com/pc/players/index.html the Falchion is the most used curved sword... i might change to the one i get from the ladder smith

Ah yes.

Problem I have is a lot of the people I meet are lagging to varying degrees. So dodging their spells or actually hitting them is quite difficult.

But my longsword +10 make short work of anyone... magic user or no, shield or no.

another thing i love is when those noobs that just turtle not aware of shield break or anything and when i break their shield block and do critical damage they message me calling me a hacker... gotta love that feeling when you're not even hacking and someone thinks you're on that level of power

Ah yes, done that a few time s too.

Usually I have enough stamina to wail down their block and keep on going, and it's so satisfactory. Usually only works on non 100% block shields.

people are calling magic "OP" though they dont know hwat theyre saying... magic can be a powerfull thing maybe even "OP" if your opponent is not prepared for it

i started a INT/FTH build a couple days ago and yes it can be very powerfull but to be at any decent level for PVP i pretty much had to exclusively put levels into INT FTH and ATN

plus theres the whole proximity to the target that could rend some attacks useless considering if it's a human target they could just run up and stagger you considering 0 poise on most mage armour

what armour do you use? i'm working towards the Velka's set when i get there as it's gunna be a cosplay build

I only say that because of the dodginess of avoiding it. Don't ask, I am used to dodging magic but for some reason I keep getting hit now. Then again I get lagstabbed a couple of times and other connectivity issues, but I'm pretty sure it's not on my end.

Welp, I use Vengarls armour and Drangleic shield.

Though now for defeating a certain fire breathing boss I roll lightly and with Gyrm Shield.

****, I was climbing down the tower and right as I'm getting off the ladder the dude smacks me up before I even have a chance.
the best is when you're bowing and they slap you.

Sure thing, do you have any preference on what shield I use or whether or not I two-hand it?

I'd prefer if you two-handed it, it makes the experience a lot more smooth in my opinion

Actually since DS 2 the invasions I've been getting aren't difficult at all, most just wield a greatsword so it's not that big of a surprise to deal with.
