>no sign of DS2 simplicity
Over half of the boss looking characters shown in that trailer looked like big dudes in armor, slightly deformed dudes, but still just dudes in armor. WYVERNS AREN'T BOSSES
in the past 2 dark souls games where Dragons are boss tier, but Drakes have never been bosses. If a dragon is going to be a boss, it's probably going to be called a dragon, not a drake. I couldn't give less of a **** if they're actually wyverns or wyrms or **** because the game says drake, so in this fantasy world they're drakes.
Past experience dictates it. The large reptile shown in the trailer more closely resembles the drakes/wyverns from the previous titles than the dragons and none of them have been counted as a boss character. So why would this one be any different?
But I agree I could've been less thickheaded about it.
Funny though that how do you know whether or not they're bosses in the first place?
They could very much just another red wyvern thing like the one on the bridge of Undead Burg
I guess you are right, I mean in Dark Souls 2 the Flexile Sentry is both a boss and a common enemy.
THe big drakes have always been more enviromental hazards than plot devices, so I kinda grew fond to them being forces of nature instead of sentient life forms that helped build the lore of the game.
idk i kinda liked some of DS@'s simplicity, mostly with the upgrade system, it let you have a lot more upgraded weapons so you could experiment more whereas there was only one slab per color in DS1 unless you farm for ages
You don't really have to figure out any of the story, as it's told to you by various NPC's, namely The Emerald Herald. Enemies don't require any tactical thought early on in the game, you just power through the ***** enough and they'll stop appearing all together.
I still enjoyed the game, but it didn't give me that raging hard on that Dark Souls 1 did.
DS1 Bosses: A mix of dudes in armor and eldritch horrors
DS2 Bosses: Mostly dudes in armor
Bloodborne: Mostly Eldritch Horrors
DS3 Bosses: Eldritch Horrors in armor.
I like where this is going.
They have confirmed that there will be different 'arts' for different weapons, meaning that you can use one weapon with different movesets. They will need a smooth change.
I think you will be pleased to know that it is going to be the same director from Dark Souls 1, that is going to manage and oversee the developement of Dark Souls 3.
Unlike Dark Souls 2, where it was an other director since the one from the Dark Souls 1 was busy with Bloodborne.
So the chances of Dark Souls 3 is going to be as epic as the first are pretty high.
