Moonshine originated during Scotland's prohibition, which was way different. Instead of alcohol being illegal, distilleries were just taxed out the ass making it not viable to produce alcohol, though some still did it legally. It's called moonshine because they did it at night to conceal the large amounts of smoke that came off of distillation
Not saying there aren't americans who know how to keep their liquor down, or that you guys make weak liquor for that matter. I'm just saying that with how easily irritated their palates are, 40% would sting. Americans in general can't eat liquorice. Like, they can't keep it in their mouth because it is so strong, yet scandinavian people chow it down like it's a ******* big mac. Everything in the states is so much sweeter than European stuff, that it's almost mental to consider how you guys even deal with it. I've had American versions of the candy I like, and I almost can't keep it down because it's so sweet.
We're different. Whatever.
Oh and btw, if you think Americans invented moonshine, you're plain wrong... Moonshine is home distillery, which has been done for eons before America was even "discovered".

I'm sure American moonshine is different from European local shine. And I agree that a lot of American **** is too sweet. If I ate like most of my friends and coworkers, I'd have a constant stomachache. Regardless, America drinks a ******* of liquor. One 15 year old is not representative of the country.
