Then I realised I paused Spider's Dance to listen to Spider's dance.
I've been listening to it since I heard it the first time in Undertale, that is 8 hours straight.

That's not sans's theme. That's Megalovania.
Toby Fox has used that a number of times in other works which usually denotes a psychopathic murderer maniacs who threatens the entire world. That's far from what sans is.

This is sans's theme. It's that chill song that plays whenever you see him.
Undertale OST - sans. Extended
And THIS is sans fight theme:
Undertale OST - Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans Extended
Which is basically his normal theme but every other note cut out and in a different chipset.

You see though, sans fight theme is never in the game. Only in the files and the OST.
The reason for that being: You never fight sans... Sans is fighting YOU That's not sans's boss fight theme. It's yours.

I was wrong, apparently I can do a genocide run. I'm really sorry everyone but I'm too invested in the story.
I also learned that if you enter the name Frisk at the very start of the game, you'll play on hard mode.

Yes siree, it's because (and this is a real, big spoiler) Chara is the named of the one who fell down into the mountain, and it's the one you name. Once you start playing the game, however, you actually play as a different character, namely Frisk
Really, don't click that if you haven't played the genocide route or don't intend to find out another way.
Anyway, this playthrough I named my character Murder.
Naming the character either Mercy or Murder will trigger the response "Isn't that a bit on the nose?" before you start, and I think that's great.

You find that out implicitly in the pacifist run, when everyone starts calling you frisk, and the "memories" of Asriel meeting Chara show up after Undyne knocks you out. Also in the True Lab tapes.

Indeed! You never find out the name of that guy though, and they dive into the specifics more during the genocide route.
I learned just now that you have to exhaust all the monsters in the area before killing the boss to get the genocide ending. After I got the neutral bad ending. God damn it.
God damn I love the true lab tapes, they're super cute.

I know, I know, it's extra bad when you do it after the pacifist run too (it says everyone is happy but you'll reset that just for power).
I felt horrible killing all the bosses (well, not Undyne so much, because she's a god damn hardcore warrior and she expected nothing less) but knowing it was all for nothing is worse.

at the end of the genocide run you end up selling your soul to a demon to reset the world, so at the end of the true pacifism run it reveals that you still have no soul and that you are still the evil bastard from the genocide run, this means that you can never have a true true pacifism run again and that you game is tainted.
