All those people seem like complete ******* assholes. What the **** is wrong with politely asking about someones ethnicity. The Ricky Gervais has it right

I wouldn't want to ask Saddam anything that may offend him anyway.
Even if he's dead now/

I think some of the people on the right are genuine assholes for pulling race cards on themselves and the guy on the left. The guy on the left is trying to be polite and learn more about someone else. And he complimented your ******* english, don't be an ass about it. Learning languages is hard for some people, including myself, and maybe he knows more than one language, just not yours, you twat. I went to france this year and although my french is god ******* awful, when people said I spoke well, it made me feel much more confident in my ability and I was open to learn more. Also cultures are definitely different, yes carbon based is the same, just don't be a dick and tell the god damn guy what it's like. If someone asked what it was like in your home town, they are clearly curious and want to know, comparing cultures is a nice ice breaker and fun to do. Anyway, I don't want to discuss all the dick things to say in this picture, end of rant.

tl;dr: **** those assholes on the right, good on the guy on the left for wanting to learn more and not be close minded like everyone on the right.

Why are white Americans the only people that can be 'racist'?
#43 - twofreegerbils (07/19/2013) [+] (4 replies)
No. She's just being a bitch. The world is a diverse place and people are curious about life in other countries.
User avatar #84 - foelkera (07/19/2013) [-]
The moral of the story is that anyone interested in other cultures is a racist

Or you could stop worrying about political correctness and ask, if you're curious. If they're offended, that's their fault. Most people like talking about themselves, anyway.

Unless they're interviewing you for a job or something, in which case it's probably better to avoid offending them at all costs

So, you should never make conversation with people out of fear of offending them? When I meet someone new who moves into my city, I explain what it's like to them and ask them what their old state was like because it shows that you're interested in knowing about the person and helping them. How is that any different? It's not "racist" to ask someone where they're from. I actually enjoy learning about other cultures. I guess I'm a racist.

"Wow, what's it like over there?"

How is that a bad question? Cultures are different all around the world
#19 - knowstoomuch (07/18/2013) [-]
Either this thing is really sarcastic or all the people this guy meets are assholes. He's just making some conversation. Most of the replies are pretty rude, but "What's it like there?" is a perfectly legitimate question imo.

Wtf guy!s What is this? There is no point in this post, all people are in general happy to share where they are from, and their culture.

The problem here is America/Americans, that are so afraid of other cultures
User avatar #7 to #6 - honkan (07/18/2013) [-]
Considering the ending, that pretty much seems to be the point of this comic. I don't know if I'm reading to much into it, but It seems like it's making fun of people who can't handle other cultures. A parody of sorts.
