Believe me, there have been fandoms so much worse than bronies, and
the only evidence exists in polaroid photos hidden away in a metal box.
Mind you, eva foam cosplay and fursuits hadn't been perfected until recently.
So there was some serious uncanny valley stuff going on, and seeing such photos makes me glad that I was born a decade late.

Also, these "creeps" turned out be great parents for my friends.
While the MLP fandom is pretty loud online, I've yet to meet a real douchey one IRL.
Even the fedora-wearing guy invited me over to his house to cook up monster sandwiches and watch anime while making fun of the animation errors.

I did a weekend as in a costume for a buddies independent kaiju flick in highschool and i was dying in that damn thing in an air conditioned basement. I can't even begin to imagine what the heat in those things is like while trying to dance around.
