Mundus floats in Oblivion. Technically if you did fall off the edge of the world you would be in Oblivion.

Yep. Mundus is the term for the planet Tamriel exists on (Nirn), and also its moons.
www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mundus

It floats in Oblivion. The lore for the TES series is extremly deep, and if you got really into it you would be suprised at how shit works.

For another example, you know "Sithis"? The god the DB worships? He created the entire universe along with his "brother." He is far more powerful then any Daedra or Aedra. Also dragons are technically Aedra, and since the dragonborn has the soul of a dragon the player character is on par with a god such as Talos or Akatosh.

A lot of people think the story in TES is shit, which it is if you just do the quests. If you look into the in game books and such it actually gets extremely deep and advanced.

I never really believed sithihs created all of it... i was sure the DB believed that, but I didn't.

Sithis didn't create everything, he was half of it.

Sithis was the opposing force to Anuiel (aka his "brother")

Sithis is considered to be close to Daedra, while Anuiel is more towards Aedra.

Daedra are more powerful then Aedra since Mundus was created by Aedra, and the nine divines (who are Aedra) gave up a huge portion of their power to create Mundus. This caused Aedra to be able to be killed, and not be able to manifest in the mortal world under normal situations. Daedra can never be killed, and can show themselves to mortals at any time.

So why don't the daedra rebel? Though I suppose that was Mehrunes Dagons goal in oblivion

They don't really need to rebel. They are for the most part happy with their own realms. They don't care much for the mortal world, and the nine divines don't really have much control over them.

The only reason Akatosh could even manifest in the mortal world was because of the amulet of kings, which had part of his power stored in it. He even still could not kill Dagon, and was only able to put him back into his normal realm.

tl;dr, for the most part Daedra just want to use mortals, and if they changed Mundus they couldn't really do that anymore.
