Never understood how you could move a piece called a Castle. Do Castles just get up and **** off across the battle field in real lfie?

It's formally called a "rook", from the persian "rukh" meaning "chariot". The persians built their war chariots to look like crenellated stonework, in order to scare the **** out of their enemies. In western society, the piece represents a mobile siege tower, not am actual castle.
