not to mention it's obviously prior to jack getting there. as the the room is much to nice, there is no debris and destruction around (like that burning table that was kicked at you) and did you seem to forget the plane that crashes into the first tube out of the door. i don't see it destroyed

Funny story time.
My mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and I said "Bioshock Infinite" (I was joking and knew it wasn't going to be out yet)
She went to GameStop and asked if they had any copies and the clerk told her the game hadn't been released yet and wouldn't be till spring
She came home and told me that the game wasn't out yet and I must not be a very good gamer if I don't know the release dates for the games I want.
My response was "well you told me when I was younger that if I was good Santa would get me whatever I asked for"
Fast-forward to Christmas morning at my parents house
Everyone gets a Santa gift and I get my last because I'm the youngest.
*opens Santa gift that looks like a vidya game* In side "Santa" put a book with the title "How not to be a **** : A diary about ******* children" I looked at my mom (smiled) and my exact words were "Santa knows me so well"
<My actual face when

I honestly didn't like it all that much. The storyline was amazing and it was fun to play through, but it's too Call of Duty gameplay for me.. Sorry for the red thumbs.

"has amazing combat" - it was a mediocre cover/run around till shield is back/wait till elizabeth has more **** to throw me "combat experience" - also, 2 weapons maximum, could we please get away from that ****** idea that this is a good thing?
#47 - anonymous (04/24/2013) [-]
i havenĀ“t played the game but alot of reviwers are saying that the combat is not that amazing as people think its as once the game comes out of its honeymoon period people will probebly see that fatal flaws that the game actually has
+1

1. It's not official that last one is an easter egg, and they only sound the same cause bioshock 1 is just full of screeching noises every single minute.

2. You could have mentioned the big daddy in bioshock, man..

Doesn't really have great combat, its just above average at best.
User avatar #36 to #31 - churrundo (04/24/2013) [-]
the point of bioshock is not the combat
#71 to #36 - anonymous (04/29/2013) [-]
true at lest I played it for the story!
User avatar #40 to #36 - krando (04/24/2013) [-]
But when most of the game is fighting then they should at least make the fighting good.
#39 to #36 - madoc ONLINE (04/24/2013) [-]
The combat is however the weakest point of the game and there's an awful lot of it. Great story, loved the ending, turned the difficulty down so that I wouldn't even have to bother with the combat since it's ******* tedious. 8/10
User avatar #44 to #39 - churrundo (04/24/2013) [-]
I actually turned it up just to make it last longer, but last battle was ******* impossible
User avatar #28 - CNBrown (04/24/2013) [-]
Also the song you hear when you pick up the guitar is about how they keep going around in circles, and when they will be able to break the circle (The events in the game have happened many times but the characters don't notice)

My fellow funnyjunkies I am in need of some advice, should I spend my hard earned but very little money on the first bioshock. I've played the second one and I just wanna know is it better or worse

Absolutely buy it.
It's a fantastic game and well worth it.

Buy it but wait a little while and get it pre owned from game stop so you don't pay full price if you end up not liking it. Or do Gamelfy.
#32 to #18 - odaer (04/24/2013) [-]
would you kindly buy it?

******** . "and with good reason" means you agree with them. Also "amazing combat" lost you any credibility you could have had.

Because of that idiotic statement. And that is not taste in a combat system. The combat is broken, boring, repetitive and laborious. It's not up to taste when the combat system is actually **** and game developers should never be encouraged to keep it.

At the beach, you actually hear the song "girls just wanna have fun".
#15 - mohamedali (04/24/2013) [-]
The combat was god awful and only used to have the story center around it so they can call it a game, because if ******* : finite was a movie it'd be laughed out of the theater because the story is pretentious nonsense.
User avatar #37 to #15 - churrundo (04/24/2013) [-]
Combat in bioshock was never astounding. If you want good fps combat go play call of duty. Bioshock is not about the combat. it's about the story.

Oh for ***** sake it's April it's a little early to be calling Bioshock game of the year.
User avatar #10 to #9 - wilburn (04/24/2013) [-]
skyrim came out in November, it was a little late to be called game of the year, but it did it.
#11 to #10 - anonymous (04/24/2013) [-]
Right that makes total sense obviously it would be stupid to call a game that came out after every other game that year "game of the year" and thus can be compared to every other game that had come out, but dumb say it's ********* to call a game that came out before most of the other releases that year "game of the year".
User avatar #12 to #11 - wilburn (04/24/2013) [-]
chill man, im just really pointing out early or late, its mostly deemed it, plus a lot of offical reviews pre-release comes from beta testers, including the fact that we already know whats already coming out for the rest of the year

just an opinion
User avatar #8 - lemonborg (04/24/2013) [-]
That Songbird one is BS. Seeing as they hadn't even THOUGHT of 'Infinite' or Songbird then, it's totally impossible that they intended that to be Songbird's death noise in the first game, unless they went back and added it later.
#30 to #8 - anonymous (04/24/2013) [-]
Go back and replay it then. You can hear him screaming.
User avatar #14 to #8 - shishiko **User deleted account** (04/24/2013) [-]
There was no update, and playthroughs that were posted before Infinite was even announced had the sound.

Someone could chalk it up to insane amount of planning.
#7 - kynespeace (04/24/2013) [-]
In the beginning when the preacher drowns you, and you're Bookers apartment for the first time, before you open the door and see New York on fire, lean up against the door to Annas room and you can hear a baby crying. MFW
User avatar #24 to #7 - northleech (04/24/2013) [-]
I didn't get the "House simulator" DLC yet :/ Is it worth getting? I heard playing as Bookers house is pretty redundant tho, the Elizabeths tower campaign seems alot better.

You know I had to.
#69 to #24 - kynespeace (04/24/2013) [-]
Oh ho! I get it, becuase I no put the word IN before Bookers apartment! OH HO!!! Theres no Bookers house DLC! OH!!! HO!!!!!! You so fahnny!

User avatar #5 - nockae (04/23/2013) [-]
What about near the end when you are in an underwater city and Booker says
"An underwater city? That's ridiculous."
