I've never seen the show or the movie, although I've thought about starting to watch the show. What is so wrong with the movie that it's rated 4.5/10 on imdb?

I don't know if they gave Shamalama a box of tooth picks for a budget and told him to roll with it, but he could not have butchered it any more. Where to begin (as I'm sure everyone will have something to say about it). For starters, their so called 'bending', was a bunch of poorly executed dance moves which caused styrofoam rocks to float toward their opponents. The airbending made it look like his opponents merely tripped and fell. The acting was dreadful, there was no emotion in any of the scenes. They tried to cover way too much at once, which made the plot seem like it was full of holes. Finally, without spoiling anything for you (as you should watch the show), the final epic scene which could have been amazing...it's like the director said "fuck this" and called it a wrap. While I know that sometimes people on this site can just hop on the band wagon and give something a bad name, this isn't the case here. Anyone who saw the show knows, it was a disaster. I'm sure that others will tell you more if you wait, but that's my speech.

Plus they called him "Ovatar Ong". Katara and Sokka where white. Zuko was a fucking Indian. Iroh was a 40 year old guy with dreads, Momo was a scary little shit, it was all way too serious, it's a funny show, it should have been a funny movie.

mind giving some more details? why is it such a failure compared to it's series counterpart? What is so different that makes it terrible?

Dear god where to begin , well , for anyone that's watched the series and loves it knows that the movie was a mess , primarily because they didn't do justice to the storyline at all.

I mean they left out so many important factors , that will be needed in the future storyline , also , the bending was horrible , firebenders could only move existing flames instead of creating their own (Ex.They need a lit torch to move the flame , they can't create it) And when Iroh did create it they went apeshit like it was a big deal "OMG HE'S MAKING FLAMES FROM NOTHING!@!@"

There was no character development at all , Aang didn't smile once , and if you watched the show , first book in particular , Aang is very happy go lucky and has the mentality of a kid. The Aang in the movie acted like a sadistic little twat. It was all a big fucking horrible mess and I wish I never watched it , god damn it Shamalan...

It's truly heartbreaking, is it not? Ugh, I still cannot get over the emptiness that The Last Airbender is over. I don't much care for The Legend of Korra, It's still good, but I don't know...I can't describe it. Haha.

I haven't started watching Korra yet, I don't really feel like it. I'm afraid the saying; "no love can ever be as beautiful as the first one" will be so true here
