I feel like if more people actually gave the show(s) a chance, there would be a hell of a lot less whining. It really is a fantastic show.

I decided after seeing all the bendingtime posts to check it out. After watching it all on Netflix, I can see why it's so popular. It reminded me of why I found Japanese anime so fascinating as a teenager, a 'cartoon' that told a complete, nuanced story and at least somewhat approached more mature themes such as love, death, and injustice while maintaining the romanticist notions of honor, self-sacrifice and doing the right thing even when it's difficult or not emotionally satisfying.

If you're one of those people that refuses to watch it because it's 'a cartoon for children' then please re-examine your preconceptions. Even Disney films have adult humor in them, which tends to be even more funny due to the adroit witticism required to keep the kids from 'getting it'. If you're not watching it because you only like Japanese anime, and thus think it's too timid or feels like a dub: First, lighten up 'cause plenty of anime is good while being a bit childish and heart warming, and second, while I hate dubs as much as the next otaku, this was written in English to begin with numb nuts, it's not the same thing.

So, yes, Bendingtime, you won me as well. I'm kinda waiting to see how much longer LoK is going to go, and if it ends up on Netflix any time soon, as I'd prefer to just marathon the entirety as I did with ATLA. Dodging the spoiler LoK posts is a bit irritating but oh well.

I like ponies, but not as seriously as I like Avatar. Part of the reason I like both is the fanbase. My Little Pony has a broader and more entertaining fanbase, but I like the content of Avatar better. It's more serious, while FiM is more lighthearted. Avatar also has some humor, which I more often laugh at.The whole show is much more emotional and enthralling than any other cartoon I have watched. Watching the ending nearly made me cry, because the whole show was like a deep, complicated statement. The last episode of FiM will probably pretty fucking bittersweet, though. It'll be like reminiscing on an early adulthood of partying and relationships.

TL;DR Ponies are a kind of awesome that I can laugh at and cheer for, but Avatar's a kind of awesome that brings a tear to my eye.

I hated bendingtime posts until I decided to watch A:TLA, and I just finished watching the whole series, and all I can say was that it was fucking fantastic and I can't wait to watch LoK

in the last few months since December, I have watched FMA, FMA:B, Soul Eater, A:TLA, A: LOK, Death Note, watched the first 2 seasons of Pokemon, rewatched the whole Yu-Gi-Oh series, and Yu-Gi-Oh GX series and I am currently on episode 262 of One Piece. I honestly don't think I have a life
