Sigh. Okay let me explain what the original series did right with the romance and what this series isn’t doing right.
Aang had his priorities strait. He put off telling Katara his feelings because there were more important things to worry about, and it kept things simple. Yes there was a very small hinting of a love triangle between Aang Zuko and Katara, but the story of the Avatar is a fairy tale and fairy tale romances are suppose to be kept simple (For the most Part). There was SOME tension and drama from the romance but over all, it mostly came from where it was suppose to, the quest to save the world. This honestly seemed like a disney channel preteen drama, and after a gripping episode like last weeks, it doesn’t really hold up.
Also, why does Korra like Mako? Where is the chemistry? If Korra must have a romantic love interest in the story, then I want it to be with someone she bounces off well with and has interesting conversations.

1. Aang was a kid, 12, not 17 like korra. at korra's age, everyone wants somebody to be with. bitches be wanting the cock, and dudes be wanting da pussy.
2. The shipping was (sadly/strangely) one of the most popular things to with the original avatar. Since they put this out there, the team is most likely fueling the fan's creative minds to go ape shit with this much drama.

aang was a monk from the temples of the air nomads where they meditated and were calm and peaceful individuals...
korra is just an only child from the southern water tribe...the weather had to be less than calm, and i doubt they were as reserved and collected as the monks were

B) There's only been five episodes, you can't really judge this entire series yet.
Though I do understand where you're coming from, the fact there has only been five episodes means you can't really tell what the focus is yet. Wait a little bit before deciding its a "preteen drama."

arearea (05/06/2012) [-] i also do not like the whole romance thing, and how its so big in Korra. But she is a woman, and the protagonist, so romance will of coarse be in it.
