I don't think people shoulld be killed as punishment (ike the death penalty). If they've done something so bad that people think it warrants death, then surely that is letting them off easy. A quick death. I would rather a serial kiler, for example, to rot in prison forever.

My guess is that since she's so poor into the spiritual side, and the avatar state is connecting with the power of the past lives, she can't use the avatar state yet.

As opposed to Aang, who was an air monk, therefore more in tune with his spiritual/avatar side, and was able to enter it, even when he could not control it. Korra, who is quite the opposite, cannot even enter the state under circumstances that would have elicited an Avatar-state reaction from Aang.

oh here we go its finally letting me reply to you just on a comment way up here lol. but there is a couple of things you could do. there was a deviant art page that had all of the promise part 1 but i dont know where it went. and the more likely and easier option is to torrent them. thats what i did for the second one because it came out like a week ago. that would prolly be your best bet.

Exactly. I can see her using the avatar state to take down Amon much later into the series, though.

You see, I somewhat predict that Amon will srtip Korra of her bending, which would require some sort of Spirit World training, possibly with Aang, Roku, and all avatars before.

I think there's some sort of level difference with stripping an avatar of bending, because there's more than one element. If that did happen I think he wouldn't anticipate the power of her power, somehow unblocking whatever disconnected her to the spirit world, her going avatar state, and overpowering him.

Or, perhaps, he strips Korra of her bending, but she can still use it, if only during the Avatar State.

That may be, but LoK is also directed to a younger audience, and I don't think they'd like writing something where the hero is basically defeated by the villain.

Well, what about the ending of Season 2, in ATLA? Azula basically killed Aang, and destroyed his connection to the avatar state, but Katara was able to revive him.

I think it would be another connection as far as the two go, if Korra got her own bending taken away, but was able to use that Avatar State, as opposed to Aang's bending remaining intact, but unable to use the Avatar state.

He was able to use the avatar state in the final battle, and it was also shown in the flashbacks.

Right, he was able to regain it! So, as a parallel, Korra would eventually regain her own bending, although I would imagine that they wouldn't make her wait until the end of the season.

If they were to take her bending away, I'm sure it would be done close to the end. Or else every battle would be either her going into the avatar state and kicking someones ass, or her just sitting on the side-lines/basic fighting. Not too fun to watch.

Yeah. For all we know, the spirits made a mistake, making another "Avatar", who represents the spiritual side, which would explain how Amon can negate bending, and why Korra can't connect to that aspect.

Ah, typical fans. Whether it is MLP, or LoK, the fans always overanalyze the SHIT out of the show. But it does lead to interesting revelations about the show, insights that may come true. I can't wait until the next episode, though!


Overall, I think that LoK is a great sequel to ATLA, but I think it has moved kind of fast, compared to Aang's exploits.

I'm interested to see how this will go.

Yeah, that's the thing I don't like about it. They started her off with her mastering 3 elements, and then skipped the the main enemy.

It does provide a mirror from Aang, who was spiritually connected, cool headed, and only knew Air, as opposed to Korra, spiritually deficient, hot headed, and mas mastered all elements, except Air.

It took a full season for Aang to really develop any sort of definite love interest, while Korra gained one almost from the second episode.

i still wish they made the promise into a show though. i loved all the characters LoK is great but i wanted more of the original.

idk maybe he cant undue her bending because its all elements, shes the avatar. im thinking thats why he didnt when he had the chance. although he did make a good point about it would just make her a martyr if he did.

I think he can strip the human side of Korra of her elemental bending, but he can't strip the avatar side of Korra of its bending. We have theorized that, if she gets her regular bending taken away, she could still use it in the avatar state. However, because she is so out of wack with her spiritual side, she couldn't.
