The effects of Korra's poisoning.

I did research while simultaneously making this, so don't expect anything fancy. But I think the bit with the insomnia is actually head-exploding mind-blowing

Time for an edit:

Yes, I did miss 1 big symptom, hallucinations. Mercury poisoning can cause these.

There are indeed other furrofluids (metal liquids) than Mercury. This is why I first thought it wasn't Mercury, because that would be too easy. But the symptoms match Mercury to a near perfect T.

There seems to be a debate on whether the Red Lotus was a waterbender or a metalbender. The only evidence I gave was the bender's forms, resembling Tai Chi, i.e. waterbending. An even bigger debate seems to be whether mercury and be metalbended, as it has no impurities to bend. Perhaps Su Yin is just an extremely powerful metalbender. We've seen crazier things, like psychic bloodbending. Or maybe the poison is just a fictional substance that's similar to Mercury. Or maybe the writers just made a mistake, not remembering the physics of metalbending.

With this new evidence, I'll add to my final verdict: The poison was Mercury or a similar, fictitious substance that has impurities giving it the ability to be metalbended.

pretty sure waterbenders can only bend water and not anything that is liquid

They bend the water in the vines, not the vines themselves, like how they bend the water in someone for bloodbending, not the blood itself.

It's a pointless topic to discuss, because it doesn't have to be a real substance, we don't have shirshu venom either.

The only way to know for sure is to ask the creators.

the liquid metal was pushed into her skin, which means it's directly in her blood stream
how does suyin even metelbends the liquid metal out of her body,
without pulling out iron from her blood

this really bothers me.

just gonna point out that when she is about to go up the stairs to jenoras memorial meelo wants to ride with korra on her lap in the wheel chair. he hops up on to her lap and she MOVES her arms on her own. so just saying i dont think shes FULLY paralyzed. but i guess we'll have to see next season to see how strong her arms are at the least.

Let's not forget that Mercury poisoning also causes dementia. And one symptom of Dementia is possible hallucinations. And you saw the CRAZY **** I did, right?

Insomnia is not an illness, it's a symptom.

I think it was just a metalbender using waterbending forms because it's in a liquid state. I imagine that sand benders use a style more similar to waterbending than typical earthbending because sand moves more like a liquid than a solid. What I'm saying is I doubt a waterbender could also manipulate mercury, the only think we've seen waterbenders and earthbenders both use is mud, for obvious reasons they can both manipulate it.

The problem with it being Mercury is that Metal Bending doesn't actually control the metal. It moves small impurities inside of the metal. Mercury would be pure and therefore unable to be bent by an earth bender.
