the white makeup geishas used, and the kioshi warriors are pretty much battle-ready geishas imo, was made out of pigeon guano. due to the oily nature of the substance, it is complete plausible, probable, if not indeffinate, that the makeup would stay on after not even a few minute submerged in water.
