On my posts for the past two days I've received dozens of complaints about how "Funnyjunk should hate Avatar because it hates pony stuff" from bronies and I get into a small debate with those aforementioned bronies

Wow... Why don't other bronies just suck it up. People hate, get over it.

As I said earlier, the only complaints I've received on my content are either "I don't get it, what's this from", which I reply appropriately to, and "Why doesn't funnyjunk hate this when they hate ponies... hypocrisy... both cartoons...".

It's not simply that they are both cartoons, it's the content, my friend.

Well if you take this content for example, all it is is word play on someone's name.

Sorry, let me clarify: Content of the shows.

One is a show with a targeted audience of primarily little girls that features brightly colored, girly horses.

The other is a show with a targeted audience of all ages that features a number of people able to fight each other by using martial arts and elemental powers, often in the most beautifully choreographed way possible.

The latter, for obvious reasons, appeals to the general FJ crowd more than the former.

Yeah I realise the demographics are drastically different. I try to raise that point but usually to no avail.

That's because most bronies cannot comprehend why people might dislike their show or find it girly.

As long as they leave their comments to themselves. I hate MLP but I don't go around saying how much i hate it and posting the "i hate bronies or mlp" reaction pictures. Just wanted to create an avatar loving thread, not what i got apparently lol.

I'm curious, what is it that you hate about mlp?

not trying to convince you of anything or of the sort, just wanted to understand better what people mean when they say they "hate" it.

I actually tried watching it once and to be honest i didn't like it at all. What most people say though when they hate it though is that it is a show for little girls (And they aren't a little girl lol). So yeah me I actually watched an episode and hated it, but a good majority of people that say they "hate it" is because of the fact that it is a show made for little girls.

I don't hate avatar, in fact I love it (I just haven't seen much of the new one), I just see people name drop MLP in avatar posts often, bashing MLP posts when they're actually being hypocrites with their criticisms.

Hasty generalization. From my experience, more bronies like Avatar than not.

All the debates I've had about the validity of Avatar posts have been with bronies, I just assumed there was a correlation.

Fair enough. I don't see why someone can't belong to both communities (although I personally don't care for MLP). Do you prefer Avatar for the same reasons that everyone else who likes Avatar does btw? (genuinely curious, don't want to seem insulting).

well if you mean the general reasons to be avatar can be way funnier most times has more of a sad stroyline and well honestly the characters even when pissed off at each other make sure they are for more than 2 seconds but with mlp if you do ever need cheering up it is there for you when avatar just doesnt cut it

Yeah I meant for the character writing/story/various motifs and allusions/how well it's animated etc...
When I need cheering up I just listen to Miike Snow, 'cause I think they're awesome :P
