I don't know about this new series...
I was a humungous fan of TLA since it was released but this new one...
The bending isn't as unique for the protagonists like how Toph was the only metal bender and they aren't "bending masters" either like Zuko and Katara were...
That doesn't matter to much though, it's Amon's "power" that bugs me. Aang was the only avatar to energybend, and now Amon (from what we know so far) who was pretty much just a civilian before the spirits granted him "the power". (Although he still is pretty badass)

Yea the part that gets me is that we see a lot of metal benders and lightning benders too. Only 3 people were ever able to lightning bend before and they were masters. Above being masters actually. But the metal bending i think is pretty cool. I like how Toph's daughter is their leader. Makes you think that Toph trained only her daughter to do it and she trained only her loyal police to do it. It seems that most fire benders can also do lightning now. And lightning was like the "whole crap" ace in the hole in TLA.
Not true about Toph.
they are doing a 3 comic book type thing series were it explains what happened in the gap between the end of TLA and Korra
Toph opened up a Metal Bending school
also about the lightning bending my guess is just that over time technology and techniques etc allowed just about any body to do these bendings

**leif rolled a random image posted in comment #4035925 at FJ Pony Thread ** it's different from the original, but i have to say there is a freakish amount of potential in this series... and i wanna see if they pull it off
I was thinking that too, mostly because when Aang did it there was a glow and of what the giant sealion turtle told him. That only when your energy is pure then you can take it away from other or something. When Amon did it nothing happened really. I think he was able to put Ti Lee's style in the equation but instead with the brain. Shutting off the energy from going to the body completely.
Wow, I didn't know it was 3, I thought it was just 2,but yeah I have the first one (The Promise Part 1), and to be honest it's not that great (the first one isn't) MAINLY because Iroh isn't even in it!!! D: whyyyy!!!! The next one comes out in may.

Were only three episodes in, it's far too early to be judging it, first impressions maybe but you weren't really talking in first impression tones if you know what I mean. I'm skeptical Amon will actually be who he says one way or another, as are many people. Of course there are other metalbenders, why wouldn't she teach people? Amon's power will be explained in future episodes without a doubt so just be patient, all will be revealed.
Yeah but I'm guessing she is going to have to tune with her spiritual side soon. I'm kinda sad that they haven't shown her in the avatar state yet... I'm interested to see if Aang is going to help her like Roku did for Aang...
