i'm glad they didnt go that way...we already saw that in TLA and so far this series has been very good at being original
Her ties to the elements were completely severed.
There's no way to recover from that
unless of course you go into the mother fucking avatar state

I think its better that she doesn't have to re-learn everything it would be to similar to the original story
We haven't seen her bend out of the avatar state so i guess she could possibly have to relearn, but I doubt it. Season two will pose a new threat. Also, She has not mastered air yet, she ca just now actually bend air. she still has training to do.

If they made another season of her relearning the elements it would just be Aang's story all over again. People would be complaining: ``Oh look, LoK is nothing but a A:TLA copycat`` People always find something to complain about.
Also, how can people not be excited for a whole season of a fully trained Avatar? We only saw 4 episodes of Aang with full avatar powers now we got a whole season of it!

I was really looking forward to something along these lines. Her spiritually reconnecting with past avatars and the spirit realm in general to relearn bending, maybe even visit the original animals people learned bending from. Just getting them all back seemed like a bit of a cop out, and while it was still pretty awesome, I was looking forward to something else.

Wasn't her link to the other elements cut off so she physically wouldn't be able to?

i was hoping she would get her bending taken and amon would win, then in the next series she would have to relearn the elements and then fight amon and win another time
aang gave it back...
Noatak, Amon, probably just blood bend a Chi blockade so she would not be able to bend. He did not take it

I was thinking Noatak and Tarrlok could come back and be the enemies, but then I forgot they exploded.

Thats what I was thinking!!! Then she'd have to learn the other three elements over again over the next three seasons

Well if she lost all her abilities but started to air bend it would go along with what book this one was. The first book is air so she could only airbend, then the next book water she could acquire her waterbending skills etc.
It made more sense as a plot to me for her to regain her connection to the elements and just not possess skills to wield them.
Not Aang showing up all willy nilly like and restoring everything and making everything rainbows and sunshine
