Doing your little petition thing is not going to change ANYTHING.
No matter how terrible a director he is, he still has the right to creatively express himself in any way shape or form, as long as it does not psychologically or physically harm anyone, and don't tell "but omg i r ttly hermd n buthert cuz he meks moviiz".
Then don't watch them, you fat little pricks, you have a brain, learn to use it and be more critical about what you watch.

And I don't mean "Doesn't do good" as in the movie is terrible, I mean "Doesn't do good" as in everyone with half a fucking brain, and any form of respect for the show they watch do not watch it, then the money it will make is next to nothing compared to how much it cost producing it.
The failure will be associated with his terrible directing and screen writing skills, and it will affect his status as either tremendously.

He isn't a bad directer he has made a lot of decent movies. I know I will get red thumbs but honestly one bad movie doesn't make you a bad director, almost every movie made from a series/book/video game are changed and always for the worse. The only exception I can think of is the LOTR movies.
