I think the artist made this comic back when everyone was still trying to figure out who the hell Amon was...the Noatak/Tarrlok ending was one of the best things I've seen in a movie/show/game ever, but personally, I like this origin idea for Amon much, much more

I meant when Tarrlok killed himself and his brother, that was a dark and deep turn of events for a kids' show...the fact that Noatak was even a thing at all is debatable in its story quality, yes

I think you're right, but considering book two of Korra is called spirit, I still say this general concept is worth considering.

Oh, definitely! I didn't get enough Amon, and I could always use some more Koh, so I'm crossing my fingers that this concept gets used

Not only that, but it actually wouldn't surprised me if the owl helped him at some point, though I see the owl eventually being more of an antihero not a villain. Kind of like Zuko, starts on the bad side for his own reasons then comes to believe and trust in the Avatar.
