I don't think it's impossible for it to be repurposed for the military, though that couple sure would be cool.

Well the only reason i think its unlikely is because Zuko and Azula weren't really part of the military. They were involved in some military related actions but only because they were prince and princess of the fire nation. I find it a lot more likely to be royal clothing.

theyre not the same they have a white ascott and a over shirt, you maybe be right but also in the begining of turn of the tides tenzin ordered for the united forces to come to republic city and in the end you see genearal iroh wearing the gettup and going to republic city so i theorize that its the united forces uniform and simply bumi is part of it
