When LOK was thought up and put under way, there was to be only one season. Somewhere around episode 5-6, a second season was officially announced. The creators could've had the finale done by that point.. Depending how much they finish in advance.

That is not true. It was in the production stage that it was announced that there were gonig to be 2 seasons. We all knew there were going to be two seasons way before the premier of LOK.

The real reason that this season had such abrupt ending is because LOK was intended to be a mini-series. And like all mini-series, they would have a single enemy each season, this case Amon. We all knew that.

The thing I'm concerned is that the regaining of the bending techniques was too abrupt. I mean, Amon blocked bending using bloodbending, why would energy bending unblock it? Unless energybending is explored next season it will stay as a deux ex machina IMO.

He stated "We’ve written all the episodes" that was before it launched. So chances are the general idea was done for the finale, and something was definitely written before they were given the second season. Anyway, thank you for bringing this to my attention, so you may hold on to this for me.

They better explain Zuko's mom :(. I'd also like to see how Korra does with her new-found airbending, and if they elaborate on her energybending as well. It'd be kind of cool for them to explain Amon's powers and to see if the equalists will continue, or if Republic City will just go back to being all "happy" again. Maybe explore the world a bit too, we know there's still the 4 nations (the representatives from the council) but all we've seen is Republic city and a little bit of the Northern Water Tribe.

I don't remember where but I remember reading that they were not going to explore much of the world aside from RC. And apparently there will be another "villain".

Yeah the creators thought it'd feel too much like ATLA, and I can see where they're coming from. That's why they restored Korra's bending. Imho if they made her relearn her bending, it'd be an ATLA repeat.

It actually makes a little sense. During 3 seasons they keep telling us how the Avatar is this cosmic angel keeping balance between matter and spirit etc. I don't think twisting a bending 'gland' (or idk) would really suppress the avatar..

Yeah but they did the same thing in A:TLA with the lion sea turtle or whatever teaching aang airbending

Yeah, this just reinforces Korra's idea that she can't do anything without her bending.

They could've had season two being her working to get her bending back, maybe even with together with Lin.
