Did you get that gif offa space-cow? I dunno what that is, but about 8 months ago someone posted that gif (without watermarks or anything), and someone in the comment section edited the gif and cut out the person walking in front of the cat.
I just thought you'd be happier with this one instead.
no. for her, that would be letting go of the wish to be the leader of anything. Zaheer didn't want to control things, he just wanted to change things. She wants to controll the Earth empire and basically everythin else as well. So letting go of the earthly attachments would mean for her to no longer ruling anything.
i'm not sure which question you're asking so i'll answer both.
if you mean where the "earthly tether" thing comes from, it's back when zaheer first learned to fly. his mantra was "Let go your earthly tether. Enter the void. Empty, and become wind."
if you mean how does "earthly tether" apply here: it's just stating the similarity in expressions and situation. zaheer let go of his earthly tether because P'li, his sparky boom boom lover, dies. kuvira is doing the same by killing batar jr.
you could say, symbolically, it's the same thing. kuvira's final rise to power is the same as zaheer finally flying
i couldn't discern the depth of her feelings.. they barely touched on it and the last scene where they hugged felt a little forced to me. that may just be because the lines were so damn cheesy
I get the feeling it was to show how determined she was. I think she genuinely did care for Bataar Jr, she just cared more about the united Earth Republic, and wasnt going to let anything stand in her way
Didn't seem to me like she had any "humanity" to begin with. When whateverhisnameis said that he loved her, she never said it back. Seemed like it was just a big act to me.
It's to show she was using Batar and could care less about his well being now that she's about to take Republic City. That's why she asked if the Avatar was with him at his location; she wanted to blow them all up at once. Whether or not Batar lives or dies is most likely inconsequential to her.
i hate that they didn't make this villain as dynamic as amon or zaheer. she's a boss ass beast at bending, but that's about it. at least zaheer and amon were in a gray area of morality because of their causes and the situations surrounding them.
I dunno, I think the whole gray-morality bit has been done a fair bit now, but what we haven't seen before Kuvira is the decent into evil. partly for her, partly for those who worked with her (Varrick, Bolin, maybe even Battar jr) Unalock was a dick. Fire lord Ozai had evil as his entire character.
I think it's nice to see a clear-cut-evil character, with the gray-area idea supplied by the people.
i really wish we could've had 26 episode seasons to get all the characters and plots fleshed out but i read that they only wanted it to be a short series so oh well. with what we have gotten i've enjoyed it and it's sad that next week the entire series ends
Wonder who's gonna die. It's crazy to see how much darker this series is than The last airbender I mean sure we saw Giyatso's dead body, Sokka's girlfriend turn into the moon and Admiral Cho get eaten by the spirit beast, but lets recap.
Season 1: Amon gets blown up by his brother
Season 2: Unnalaq gets eaten by the spirit Vatu and it shows Avatar Juan die after a big battle.
Season 3: No arms Water lady gets it by electrocution, Magma dude brings a mountain down on himself, Earth queen needs a breather, and Zaheer's girlfriend loses her head.
yet since this is a kid show we only get to see these "the second before" moments so we can say aha this and this just happened that´s crazy horse **** but we didn´t see any gore anyway
Kinda like Last airbender were for a younger audience, and Korra is for the same audience that have grown up.
Also they are dealing way heavier with emotional traumas and such too, I like this darker side to the show.
Dammit stop being so damn pleasent, FJ gone totally everyone's a bro being nice and **** ... I dont trust it!!
Ranting is okey, you also forgot the earth metal bender old traitor guy who got tossed into the valley for lost souls in the spirit realm leaving him more or less a vegetable for life.
Ah **** . No reason why I kept reading but now I spoiled myself
Thank you though for reminding me that I still need to catch up on the second half of season three
I'm not conmpletely sure the intention of the creators was a heartless Kuvira. She is a ************* totalitarian bitch, but human. I saw it as she was putting both battaar and the Empire in the wheighing scales, and the last won.
Do you Imagine Hitler, Stalin, Ghengis Khan or any other great conqueror stopping because of their loved one? Most of them would suffer in silence for the good of the nation / the loot / the Glory of the Empire.
"This creature softened my heart of stone. She died and with her died my last warm feelings for humanity."
that was from joseph stalin about his first wife's death
She fired a damn death ray beam made from energy of the spirit vines to kill the avatar, Tenzin, tophs children and grandchildren where Kuvira is together with one of them sacrificing him for her to gain more and others, you know gone completely over to the dark side, also she's using a big ass Jaeger from Pacific Rim to wreck havoc!
Immediately when I saw the giant mecha robot I started to think about Shinji. get in the ******* robot
but anyway, it was a nice surprise, the robot actually feels threatening and scary. I sure hope they don't find out some dumb way to beat it instantly. if they would keep the tension, fear and size like in the early attack on titan, I think we can get a nice end fight.
I kinda wish that they would escape republic city and asami would build another giant robot and then we would have some epic robot fighting metal gear style, but I guess it wouldn't fit in avatar universe, and the episodes are running out.
