I don't think Amon is Bumi. Call it far-fetched, but I think that Mako's girlfriend is Amon. I thought of that the second that the girl invited him to the fanciest restaurant in the city. It's just a bit TOO MUCH, TOO SOON. Especially for the way Avatar flows, I have to say that she could be Amon.

His entire family consists of benders. Also, it's highly doubtful that a firebnder could have killed Aang and Katara. I won't thumb you down or anything. Just wondering what justifies your speculation

I think Amon is lieing about it. Plus it says that Bumi isn't known to bend anything. Wouldn't you be pissed if you were the son of the Avatar and you couldn't bend? I bet that Aang actually passed energy bending to Bumi and hes using it to take revenge

guitarguise (05/10/2012) [-] Take revenge for what? Creating a cult and actively fighting against entire nations takes more than just envy. It takes passion and true cause. I simply can't see that being the reason why Bumi became the antithesis to everything that his father was. MAYBE some childhood bullying or something for being a nonbender of the avatar's family.... but that's a stretch too.
Anyways, I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

I am a psychiatrist, and I can tell you from first hand experience with it, MOST kids, the vast majority, have problems due to environment. THERE ARE people who are deranged do to chemical imbalance, AKA being "Born Bad" . It is completely possible that Bumi is simply insane. It would be fitting, given the fact that Aang's crazy best friend is also named Bumi. He has that strange smile, too.
