Amon will live and come back next season to finish the fight. The power from Mako's lighting was more powerful then that weak ass explosion. Which started from the back probably shooting Amon forward away from the boat.

I very highly doubt it, But I'll guess we'll all see. That's why i don't do retarded ass theories, because we find out anyways.

Amon is powerless without his followers. He can come back and do some blood bending ****, but Korra will just end up ******* his day and taking away his bending.

He could go find more people who think the way he does. Come back with an army of benders that hate the avatar.

People followed Amon because what he stood for was pretty legit. He wanted to take out all benders so everyone would be equal, but now that everyone knows he's a bender, no one is going to follow him because he was just doing it for power.

Someone could rise up that is a non-bender and take out all benders (e.g. Asami's dad) but Amon isn't coming back

Dude, Amon will be back. He was the whole threat of peace in the Republic. That would have been like Aang beating the Firelord in the first battle attempt.

He was revealed to be a bender and the leader of the anti-bending revolution... not a very smart move to come back to an entire city that want's to kick your ass. Even his second in command went against him after he found out... No matter how powerful the spider... it can still be ripped apart by a colony of ants.

there will still be equalists, even though it was built on a lie, they actually have more of a
reason to hate benders since amon is one....was =,(

I think it'll actually calm down now. With Korra becoming a fully realized avatar, she can prove that not all benders are oppressive and can deal with those that do adequately.

im saying, if there are still equalists, it wont be a massive group anymore, itll probably
be a small group acting out against benders, and might be referenced a few times

So you think they can't create a new villain?
Those writers are geniuses, they could make a flying spaghetti monster a legit antagonist.

But to base all of the first season of the show on one enemy to only give in to fan service at the end. Amon was too much of a strong enemy to be killed by a small explosion. (Avatar state, Lin's bending returned)

And besides, did you see the mushroom cloud above that explosion?
****** don't simply walk away from a mushroom cloud, no matter the size

Killing of Amon for good now would be like Aang beating the firelord during their first battle attempt. It ruins so many possible moments if they just let the good guys win.
