At the northern air temple, the inventor guy created lots of cool gadgets. His son, Teo, was in a wheelchair. Teo's son might have been angry that he was not able to bend, but his father was able to fly (assuming they no longer lived in the air temple, Teo's son would not be able to). Teo's son takes his anger out on all benders, and is jealous of them.
