Im just sharing as to how i think Amon is sealing away peoples powers.

When Amon takes bending he puts one hand on a persons forehead. When Aang takes bending he puts a hand on the forehead and on the chest. The weird light show when Aang took Ozai's bending was because Aang was not experienced with energy bending. There was no weird lights when Aang took Yakone's bending because he was experienced. Amon blocks a person's light chokra with illusion (the greatest illusion being separation i.e. separating their bending).
So the way I see it, it's like inception, planting the idea that they can't bend will make them believe it so much that they actually can't bend

The guys below are just mad because their moms have bigger dicks than them.
I had another theory about this. I thought that Amon, like many Equalists, is a Chi blocker. However, unlike the rest of the Chi blockers, he can block your Chi permanently.

Amon is probably just using an advanced form of chi-blocking. After the 100 year war ended there were only two ways to learn energybending, from Aang, or the giant lion turtle that taught him.
And depending on Amon's age it's entirely possible Aang was dead before Amon lost his parents, leaving the original source. That being said I find it doubtful that the lion turtle would teach Amon energybending for sole purpose of revenge, assuming the lion turtle revealed itself to another human since Aang, or if it's even still around.

For the record, most people on this channel now think that Amon is only a chi blocker
