it doesn't make much sense, but it has been hinted a lot that he is an airbender. he bended the smoke to chase korra in today's episode, he has gray eyes, his fighting (or more like dodging) style is very similar to an airbender's, and he could totally be hiding his tattoos with the mask and the handguards.

on another topic, i think that when he takes away someones bending he is not actually taking it away, but choking the source of chi (not just a channel in the arm, like his chi-blockers).

if he was energy bending he should have been touching both the forehead and the heart chakras. that must also be related to the symbol of his mask.

i have no idea how he resists bloodbending tho

i think Amon is a pretty cool guy. Eh takes bnedings and doesnt afraid of anything.

This show surprises me more and more, I have no clue how he wasn't affected by blood bending.
