You want to know why it's on there? Because during the Cold War, the US wanted to appear more "morally good" than the USSR, so, they put religious things on everything. Money, pledge of allegiance, etc. To make the "good, wholesome, God loving US" appear to look better than those "Godless Reds". Simple propaganda. Now, why is it still on there? Because old habits die hard, simple as that.

Plus, we'd have to get rid of every dollar bill that has that and have to manufacture new dollar bills without it. We just figure it's too much work cuz we're lazy as ****.

Not really. They'd cycle it like the new versions of bills. You can still find 90's $10 bills, but when they get to certain banks they are sent to facilities that will give the bank the same exact amount in fresh new bills and they destroy the old ones.
