Well from what i know God gave the people a bunch of chances to reedeem themselves from sin. there was this city God set to fire and he only let this one guy leave and his wife because they were the only people that honoured and obey'd him. God isn't a killer,he delivers justice to those who are evil.Homosexuality was also a BIG sin in God's eyes according to Leviticus 18:22.Sorry for my grammar im out of school and forgot bout half the stuff i learned :)

Specific examples would be great my friend. I'm only allowed so many characters per response. So I can't cover single thing at once. So please if you don't mind, give me specific examples that you have read or experienced and I will gladly answer.

Catholism is a big sett back for Christianity. Most of what they added are now ofc gone, if they hadn't removed it, they would lose power. But there is still things in Christianity that wasn't there originally, I will only say 1, as I'm too lazy to find sources. Nowhere in Christianity did it say anything about going to hell for not believing, this was added later, to scare people into submission.

Another thing I would like to say is: Almost everything that seems odd about Christianity or The Bible wasn't there in the beginning. Christianity is one of the few religions I tolerate (extremist cults not counting as religious).

The bible does ban homosexuality. In the old testimate. But what they forget to tell you is that in the NEW testimate, you know where Jesus dies for our sins, well he does that so that we don't have to live by the old testimate. So pretty much anyone speaking and living by the old testiment ie, don't cut your hair, no tattoos, gay marriage is wrong, is pretty much saying Jesus died for nothing because they are still living by the old testimate which he died so we wouldn't have to anymore.

I don't recall Jesus stating that the Old Testament is completely invalid? Have we read the same Bible? Because that wouldn't make sense if Jesus were to have said that since Jesus taught many things from the old Testament and referred to it several times throughout the New Testament. You have run into several issues here.

One of the issues is that people take so many things out of context from the old testament it's ridiculous. For example, the famous Leviticus verse about tattoos. This verse is referring to the practice of Marking your body via cutting or tattooing, to identify yourself to your god in the afterlife. This was a very common practice in old testament times and the Lord was warning the Jews not to participate in this pagan ritual. So unfortunately, you run into those sort of things now days. People taking things out of context. That's why it's best to research for yourself when you're not sure.

About Homosexuality, that is in fact a tough case. You have to understand that there were many things Jesus taught that were not written down. There is a verse in the new testament that states that. So to say Jesus never mentioned homosexuality is impossible. But I'm not saying he did either. The issue here is that same gender sex was mentioned in the new testament by Paul and addressed as a sin. I believe the verse is Romans 1: 26-27. I don't have nearly enough characters in full to cover this entirely, but I will leave you a link at the bottom to an article that discusses this. Unfortunately, you're gonna run into Christians who take things out of context and may even lie about certain things. It's awful and shouldn't be done, but you can't group them all together either.

In conclusion, Jesus did teach from the Old Testament, so you can't say he died so that the old Testament would become obsolete. But also, people lie and take things outta context. You have to research and double check if it doesn't make sense.

I'm not religious in the slightest. When people ask me what I am, my answer is always just "I don't know." I don't follow and of that stuff, I'd never even looked into it. So I just want to say, thank you for shedding light on that issue for me, because I'm honestly too lazy to use the google machine.

With that being said, why the hell are their still so many protests about gay marriage then? The majority are die hard Christians, at least from what I've noticed, that oppose it.

I'm not religious either, but I grew up religious and know the bible pretty well.

The bible is a very contradictory book, one testimate God is spiteful, in the other Jesus talks about him like he's a pretty cool guy. So you have to pick and choose what you believe. Preachers pick hate because it's easier to spread hate and get followers through hate and fear. And people put all their trust in their pastor, why wouldn't you? He knows the word of God. So they don't even think to question it.

The problem is that most Christians don't even realize that Jesus died so we wouldn't have to live by the old testimate anymore, and the ONLY thing he said about relationships was not to get a divorce. Which I don't see as unresonable if you're going to get married do it and do it right. They are basically saying that Jesus' death was worhtless, it didn't make any difference at all. Which if you're a Christian, is a BIG statement to make. But they don't see it like that, they know what their priests and pastors tell them, and if they are going to preach hate, that's what the people believe.

That really saddens me. I mean, yes it's true. Hate is a love easier to spread than love. All you have to do is look at tabloids at the super market and it's all over the place. I just don't understand why it has to be like that. As I said, I'm not religious at all, yet I feel like I'm one of the most accepting people out of everyone I know. Seems backwards when you think about it.

You find a lot of the younger generation Christians and even Catholics are very open minded and question what is being taught. I think religion will take a turn for the better, just have to give it some time.
