I don't think this is an attack. It's pointing out that being religious does not automatically make you a good person, and being atheist doesn't automatically make you a bad person. Sadly, we need to point that out, because many people actually believe in those 2 stereotypes.

Your believe is not necessarily linked to how good a person you are, there are both religious and non-religious assholes and i think we should identify as many assholes as we possibly can, no matter what they believe.

But for that to work, people would need to stop thinking that when anyone points out that a religious person is a major dickwaffle it is an attack on religion. It isn't. It is an attack against that person because that person deserves to be attacked. Because he sucks ass.

According to some Polls, they are trusted as much as rapists. He is not claiming that Christians are bad or that atheists are good, but that not all atheists are bad and not all Christians are good. An obvious fact to most that is always neglected. Religion doesn't determine someone's morality. In my personal opinion, Christians "higher" morality is out of selfishness because they are compelled to do good in order to earn eternal happiness. Not because it's the right thing. Of course this isn't always true but I have seen it way too often. A true good morality is your own belief system based on sympathy for everyone. Not a morality shared by almost all Americans. But a borrowed morality is still better than none at all.

You missed the point of the post completely.

If artists were going around telling people how they are soooo against mass slaughter, if that were one of the professed core values of being an artist, then it would be weird that one of the worst mass murderers in history was an artist.

There are good Christians and good atheists. There are bad Christians and bad atheists. Why cant people grasp this concept at all? Being a specific religion has nothing to do with how good you are as a person and nor does being atheist/agnostic. Jimmys still unrussled.

Well then they are misinterpreting the message. It's basically just saying:
-Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are good and generous people, even without the "guidance" of religion.
-Pat Robertson is a horrible man, despite being an evangelist.
Conclusion: Religion doesn't necessarily make you a good person in itself, and being an atheist doesn't make you selfish and greedy. Religion is not the soul factor of morality.

I just wish that the christians reading these posts, who are mostly genuinely good people, would stop victimising themselves and assuming that all points made by atheists are attacking them.
