They are just interpreting the bible how they see fit, just as you are.

How can you possibly say that? There is no right interpretation to something if you are saying it shouldn't be taken literally. Your interpretation is just as valid and right as theirs in regard to your religion.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be taken literally. I'm saying that the Bible never says anything about hating homosexuals... or hating anybody for that matter.

It says that unruly children should be stoned to death, why aren't you enforcing that tidbit of revelation? Anyways the parts in the bible on "love" center mainly around within your tribe, enforced by the many times god orders the death of believers in different gods. (ex. Midianites)

The stoning thing was about the Israelites. I do enforce the part where it says you should beat disobedience out of your children with a stick. I was punished with a wooden spoon when I was younger and I turned out alright.

No, it wasn't. It was expressed to the isrealites, not exclusive to them. This is even more shown by the constant references in the new testament saying how the old laws still hold sway.

Hey it's not like Jesus never got angry, he did drive out a ton of corrupt priests and money changers from his Father's temple. If anything this just goes to show God gets more pissed off with hypocrites than anything.

Anyway, on to your main point, while I agree I sometimes even wonder if God ever said that to those who actually put pen to paper to right the books of the Bible. The Bible has been in the hands of man for so long, and we all know man is far from perfect and sometimes even corrupt and evil. Who's to say some pope who didn't like gays decided to discreetly add a verse or two here and there that speaks against them? I don't know man, sometimes I have a hard time thinking that something that does no harm to anyone is a sin. I've always thought of hurting others or yourself as a sin, whether with deeds, words, or thoughts. Anyway, just thought I'd add my two cents to yours.

I imagine most of the time God didn't say, for example, "Yo John. Go write me some crazy stuff and call it Revelation." Haha. Little joke.
I gather half the time it's the author's words, but inspired wholly by God. I believe that God wouldn't let anything into the Bible he didn't want in there. At the end of Revelation, it says that if anyone adds or takes away from the Bible, his name shall be removed from the Book of Life. [Basically sent to hell. Eep!]
So God wouldn't have allowed any extra verses in that shouldn't be there. The Catholic Bible has several extra books, and Mormons have their own, and there are even some Protestants who believe the book of Enoch should be in. But the way it is is perfect and how God intended, and that's why it has stuck.

I understand why you'd think it could be changed. It has been in the hands of man since it was written. Heck, it was written by man. But it was all inspired by God, and God's plan wouldn't have the Bible changed, otherwise the message would be wrong.

I wish I could share your faith that the Bible is still the unadulterated word of God, but I've seen a lot of things happen in the world that God could have stopped and didn't, who's to say He didn't stop someone from adding something from the Bible or even simple mistakes through translation and interpretation? I'm not saying I disagree, I just take what I read from the Bible with a grain of salt.

There are definitely things God could've stopped from happening, but He has His reasons why He didn't, and they're much better than any reasons I could have, even though sometimes we never know the reasons. Take 9/11 for example. Very sensitive topic for Americans so Imma be careful here. I am in no way saying 9/11 was justified, but maybe God had some good plans from it. Maybe a bunch of people got converted and saved through it. I don't know.

So basically no matter what happens, some good will come out of it for Christians. If anyone feels left out there and that it's not fair only Christians get the good stuff, well... you know what you need to do there :P

I've always thought of it in a different light to be honest. I know God is omnipotent and omnipresent, but, with how much bad our world has suffered at our own hands I find it hard to believe he actually planned for it. I feel like it's more that He simply knew it would all happen. I don't know, God is far beyond my ability to comprehend. Anyway, I have to get to work, it's been an interesting conversation!
