Actually, a lot of people who say they are atheist on Fj make me think of little 12 year olds that are sick of going to Sunday school... A few anyway, but not all.

I was raised a Baptist and I still believe in the possibility of a God, but I've always hated people who use fear to establish a following, my old preacher being one of them. so one day he called all the kids up and dabbed holy water on our foreheads. when he did it to me I started hissing and rolling around on the floor and I bit into a fake blood capsule I had stored in my cheek beforehand. Multiple people had to leave the room and I was never allowed back in that church.

Honestly, I have many friends from other religions and I have friends who are atheists. It's not that people hate atheists. It's like the extremest Christians, their beliefs are shoved into your face even though most Christians or Catholics will actually accept anyone for who they are. Atheists that scorn the belief of god and think everyone is an idiot for ever believing in him are the ones that are annoying. Mainly because they trash on the very idea that a greater power exists, even though it has never been truly proven wrong yet. (Plus it is so widely accepted). If you're not a dick and don't make fun of and trash my belief then what you believe doesn't matter and I don't care. Just don't judge each other and we would all be happy :)

While I don't believe there is an afterlife I think we are the creation of something we could never understand. But I respect everyone's belief.

I'm a Christian, but the girl I love is an atheist... She was so worried I wouldn't love her anymore when she told me. I still love her just as much; but I don't know how to tell my parents. xD
