The great thing about science is that it's true whether you believe it or not.

Then they should learn about every religion, not just the one that they like the most.

I have given up on arguing with religious people about how there is only one god and Jesus n' stuff. You can't successfully argue with a retard, because s/he drags you down to its level and beats you with its tardology. So this is how i approach them:

There are officially 21 religions in the world. Why do they have to teach us only christianity in schools when there are 20 more of those out there? Its unfair to spread word only about christianity when children could learn buddhism instead.

It's because they don't want people to choose any old religion, they want them to choose THEIR religion. What's the point of brainwashing and indoctrinating children if they aren't gonna be obedient to your dogma?

I'm Catholic and believe in a theory called "theistic evolution", where God created the basis for everything, but he allowed evolution to run its course.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one Nation under GOD" yup there are no mentions of religion in school.

It's posts like these that make me lose all literacy and ability to form a coherent argument and post a debate rendering me only able to run around screaming "STOP IT!! STOP!! AHH!! PLEASE FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD JUST GIVE UP!!!!"

This is something that's easy to agree with. Science is science, and facts are facts. Yet, not everything scientific has been a proven to be a fact yet. Many parts of science remain theories, and no evolution hasn't been proven because it has never been witnessed or recreated. It takes just as much faith to believe that physical material was created by something intelligent as it does to believe that there was nothing and then there was gases which led to an explosion which led to dust collecting into giant rocks that eventually turned into planets. And then from this dust something as complicated as you popped out through random chance.

the universe was incredibly hot, so only radiation/energy existed. as the universe expanded, it also cooled down (adiabatic expansion), which allowed for photons to collide and form fundamental particles (matter and antimatter pairs of mainly quarks and electrons). over time, particles such as protons and neutrons formed and bonded to form the main elements of the universe (hydrogen, helium, and lithium).

hydrogen clouds clumped up due to gravity, forming massive cosmic dust clouds. eventually, dense regions would become hot enough to support fusion, and stars were born. Stars fuse elements all the way up to iron. after iron, no extra energy is gained from fusion reactions. the rest of the elements were created in supernova explosions from large stars, mainly type Ia supernovae.

planets form at the same time stars form when the hydrogen and other materials swirl around the dense core that has formed due to gravity.

galaxies form from dense regions of stars coalescing together, and galaxy clusters are just a bunch of galaxies that are close enough for them to interact.

I'm an astrophysics undergrad, so what I just told you is the current scientific explanation for why the universe is the way it is.

"The great thing about science is that it's true whether you believe it or not."
while i agree think its important to note that
"The great thing about faith, is that whether or not you care, i will still believe."
Posting crap bashing religion is about as effective to them as telling their favorite color is wrong. The only thing you're really proving when posting atheist stuff is how much you care about what you claim to not care about.

Thumb me down I don't care, I'm atheist, but this made me think that its kinda true. I mean they have religion classes which aren't in public schools... but if they really don't wanna learn about evolution for religious reasons, they shouldn't have too. Just because its been proved, to them their religion is what they believe so let them do as they like i guess. Kinda just made me think.

Sorry for long read. Have a funny :D
