We don't care if you're offended, and we never will. Get used to it.

Some parts of this I agree with, others not so much.

I'm not sure it's actually Islam itself that's the problem, it's what people do in the name of it. History is full of people who have killed in the name of whatever god they believe in. I do think that there are some, maybe even most people that are willing to kill in the name of Islam, but I also think there are Muslims out there who just want to be peaceful and live like the Quran says. The actions of those who are willing to kill have branded Islam as a "bad, evil religion," But there was a time when Christians went to war for their beliefs.

Huh. Weird. I've only been to three islamic countries, I was biking through them, and I was giving food and drink and shelter without being asked to pay or whatever at any point. Never felt safer in my life

Don't generalize all Muslims as violence, hateful beings.....I really don't want to be killed by some random guy on the street.....

It just so happens in this period violence by Muslims are the most prominent one. It's the most visible one, unlike by other people or nations. Yes, Islam is a very fragile religion when it comes to talking about them, but have you considered maybe the people rioting have no thought about why you guys think or say bad things about them? All they probably know is "Look, the infidels are insulting our religion! They should be punished!" Well, what they don't realize is why they are being insulted. They are doing exactly the things that people hate, yet get even more angry when we complain or do something about it. And not all of them are exactly educated people. They are raised in poor living standards compared to Europe or America. They don't care why you insulted Islam, they just hate you for doing it in the first place. And this guy in the video talking about not caring about Islam? Well, he's just fueling the rage. Then people cry when 9/11 happens.

And this is coming from a Muslim who kinda agrees with the guy in the vid, but feels kinda offended by the fact that he said he doesn't care a few times. Guess what, he's not fixing the problem, he's making it worse.

Yes, let's generalize an entire religion. That will help tremendously. sarcasm

He would be right, the moment he stopped blaming the religion itself. Muhammad was primarily concerned with creating a safety net for orphans and widows, anything that treats either group like an object isn't really following his example.

It is possible to be islamic, and not be aggressive, angry, or misogynous. The issue is more that these traits have become ingrained in every aspect of their culture.

The religion is not to blame; rather the people teaching the religion, the political leaders, the laws, even family figureheads can be blamed for being a poor example.

I must say I agreed with a few part of his speech, even if I quite strongly disagreed with other (nazism, etc.).
In their calendar (from creation to now), Islam is practically at the same time as Christianism started all the Inquisition shit (spanish sacrifices, tortures, etc.) all over Europe. They are now facing the storm of their own Middle Age... I can understand it.
But as well as you can't blame all christianity for the Inquisition and massacres, you can't blame a whole religion of people for what a few of them did.
... Still, we can't agree with it (it would let the few crazy ones win), we must fight, in the right direction, and in the right way, though (imo).

Now, i'm quite surprised to see that the shitstorm i forsaw for here isn't that strong at all... I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only one who is a bit upset of the events around the whole "islam issue".

(Anyway, not trying to offend anyone here, if you feel concerned by my discontent, then, you are the kind of people that I don't like, medieval obscurantist, if you are not what i discribe, then, my opinion doesn't involve you.)

Pic related ? Don't know, you tell me ! x)

It's not really the religion, per say, but the region. The region has a general hatred for the western world. There were a few Muslims in my high school, and they were genuinely nice people. I met one of their fathers at one point, and he was also a good guy.

On the other hand, my fiance's stepfather is a Muslim, and he's sexist, controlling, etc, though I wouldn't say he's "dangerous." It really does vary from person to person.
