Technically Connor's the new guy seeing as how Edward's Connor's Grandfather.

You get to explore deep in the ocean and find treasure, fight sharks and whales, dock whenever the hell you feel like it, FREE AIM (no auto-lock on with guns, all manual!!), Dual Cutlass Swords, and best of all no notoriety system because your a pirate and you dont give a **** !!!!

I enjoyed AC3 a lot. The gameplay was cool, the naval battles were epic, and Connor's story was pretty interesting. But I absolutely hated the ending. I think that the Assassins Creed story would have been much better without all the aliens and ancient gods and **** . One of the main reasons I kept up with the series was the hope that in one of the future games, you could play as Desmond fighting against the templars. But now SPOILER ALERT since Desmond is dead, you can't. I think adding in all those weird gods just made the game more confusing and that it would have been much better if Ubisoft just stuck with templars vs assassins. With all that said, I'm still a big AC fan and the next one looks very promising, but I think that Ubisoft ****** up with the ending big time.

agreed. they should have just made the glyphs like info on Cross and Clay and **** instead of trying to bring in adam and eve
User avatar #306 - kanatana (03/10/2013) [-]
This is just a personal opinion, but there needs to be a female protagonist to onee of these games. Just saying.

It would be sick if there was an assassin's creed taking place in Japan during it's industrialization. You could play as some Portuguese guy that's fighting against european templars tryna **** **** up for the Japanese. Add for a sub plot, you can also rebel with peasant ninjas against their ******* samurai masters. eh?

it will, but instead of it being scripted sequences that you had to do in AC3, its whenever you want. the docking, the cannon fighting, all your choice.

I personally think this series peaked at Assassin's Creed II. The amount of depth they put into the first and second was great. Huge open worlds, beautifully constructed cities and all that. I think Brotherhood, Revelations, and Assassin's Creed III missed the mark. Revelations and Brotherhood were too constricting being in only one city, and Assassin's Creed III was too watered down to be enjoyable.
User avatar #286 to #284 - demonicdude (03/10/2013) [-]
This pirate one seems like it's in response to how much people loved the ship to ship combat in the third one. It was interesting but having it completely mission based instead of free roaming on a ship was kind of a let down. Not sure if that will be changed in the next one. But yeah as far as the story goes, the third one leaves a lot to be desired.
#290 to #286 - powerfapping (03/10/2013) [-]
I think that's really all it is. They're taking the most enjoyable part of Assassin's Creed III and designing a whole game around it. I'm definitely going to wait a while before I decide if this is worth the buy or not.

They made it work in AC3, where Desmond had to get those shards he was using parkour all over everywhere. So yeah it could work. Though is not as exciting as the past.
User avatar #263 to #260 - drldrl (03/10/2013) [-]
Sure. There's no reason it wouldn't, they already had modern gameplay with Desmond.

Something I was rather impressed by in AC 3 were the levels that Desmond was involved with. This was a facet of the series that I was primarily worried with, how they intended to involve Desmond in more than just a Animus controller. I am actually excited to see how they intend to evolve his gameplay and whether or not we will see more levels of him beyond ascending skyscrapers/ running on the rafters of sporting events.

desmond is dead and will not be in the new game.
#341 to #236 - hadoukencamacho (03/11/2013) [-]
ok, so in revelatios when the animus was deleting "old hardware" (Desmond and Subject 16/ Clay) , Clay grabbed Desmond and Desmond responded "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" and Clay said "SAVING YOU IDIOT" then pushed him out of the Animus' deleting program. Once Desmond woke up form his coma his right arm's veins were glowing blue (a sign of clay being one with Desmond). Then, in Assassins Creed 3's ending when Desmond touched Juno's sphere thing, he used his RIGHT ARM. So Desmond didn't die, but figuratively Clay died instead. How do you know Clay was in Desmond you might be saying, well because when you talk to one of your Assassin friends she says "Subject 16", in which you reply rather angrily "His name is Clay!" That could have been Clay stating his mind through Desmond. Also, in Assassins Creed 2 when you watch The Truth video, Subject 16 says "Adam....Eve...Their DNA...IN YOU! Your son...Only Hope!!" That means Desmond must have some of Adam and/or Eve's DNA in him, and he must find the female descendant of Adam/Eve and have a kid with him. Adam and Eve were the first assassins and they overpowered Juno the first time, so if Desmond and this mystery woman have a kid, he'll be the Ultimate Assassin because he'll have pure First Civilization DNA in him, and he can easily fight Juno. Desmond is in a coma (again), and most likely in one of the future Assassins Creeds, you will have to find this Mystery Woman, and once you do, you will play as their kid and end Juno, ending the Assassins Creed franchise. The Templars are gone due to Desmond killing the leader in Assassins Creed 3, they were only a decoy to hide the fact that the real antagonist was none other than Juno.

You need to login to view this link

he's dead and will not be in the next game. you possess an incredible ability to read to far into things and apply meaning to the meaningless. you should become an english teacher or maybe an art teacher. i'm not trying to be rude but speculation on the meaning of minor details of fiction versus what the creator has actually said is a waste of time. desmond is really dead. think it through. throughout the entire AC series his character was never developed and felt more like a generic buffer between player and plot. fans of the game have also criticized the character for the same reason. so why would ubisoft, while saying his story ended and knowing how much fans despised the character, fake his death, especially when they never put in the effort to make him integral to the series?
#343 to #342 - hadoukencamacho (03/11/2013) [-]
But why would they make us play all those games to make Desmond so badass just to kill him off? thats what im trying to figure out
#346 to #343 - isititis (03/12/2013) [-]
it's called climax and it's how stories work.
#347 to #346 - hadoukencamacho (03/14/2013) [-]
but who will we play as now? ******* Shaun?! I still think there is gonna be a twist because why would they include The Truth video, Desmond's arm glowing, Clay, and everything else about Desmond? I don't think Ubisoft would let us down like that

I have a rule, if not physical damage has been done to a body, they are not dead. I believe Desmond is still alive. As his death was really pathetic.

desmond, as a character was pretty anti-climactic, so it kind of fits.

#239 to #236 - cappter ONLINE (03/10/2013) [-]
So they are just going to play directly through the assassins now? hmm, that hopefully should clear up the storyline a great deal.
#240 to #239 - isititis (03/10/2013) [-]

#244 to #240 - cristianalo (03/10/2013) [-]
The person in the Animus in IV will be "you" and you will be an Abstergo agent. So yes, you're right, it does have to do with the hackers. They hacked his memories so anyone can live them

Never really been into the AC series but Black Flag looks like It could be worth playing, ship vs ship multiplayer with boarding actions and all would be badass.

Ubisoft already mentioned there will be no multiplayer aspect that involves ship boarding, unfortunately...
