No the musket loading speed was pretty accurate for AC3 it was AC 2 and Brotherhood where they made loading the gun EXTREMELY fast

Actually, even in AC3 the muskets load pretty fast when compared to real life. I've fired a muzzle-loading rifle numerous times in competition, and you're given thirty minutes to fire 6 shots. Of course it only takes about 15 minutes to fire the six shots as long as you keep a good pace. This is a general list of everything that you need to do before firing a muzzle-loading rife/musket:
1. Measure an appropriate amount of powder into a powder measure. (about 30-60 seconds)
2. Pour that powder down the barrel of the gun. (5-10 seconds)
3. Place a small lubricated patch on top of the barrel. (5-10 seconds)
4. Place a ball on top of that patch. (5-10 seconds)
5. Using a special tool called a starter, and a hammer you begin to smack the ball and patch about 5-7 inches down the barrel. (10-20 seconds)
6. Using a ramrod, push the ball and patch the rest of the way down the barrel as far as it will go. (15-30 seconds)
7. Pour a small amount of powder into a small pan on the side of the gun near the trigger. (10-20 seconds)
8. Close the cover over the small pan and cock back the hammer. (5-10 seconds)
9. Aim and fire the gun.
10. Run a couple of cleaning patches down the barrel of the gun. (30-60 seconds)
11. Repeat steps 1-10.
So even if I took the least amount of times from those estimates. I would only have about 1 shot every 2 minutes. Moral of the story: VIDEO GAMES ARE INCREDIBLY UNREALISTIC!!!!

I'm not saying that the loading should be realistic. Wooyoo said that the loading was realistic, and I was letting him know that he was wrong.

3 shots in 46 seconds performed by a re-enactor.
Obviously an actual redcoat would have been drilled much more so he can perform like this during the heat of battle.

You may be right, I'm not that experienced with muzzle-loaders. I just think that AC3 has their loading sequence a bit on the fast side. I'm not even saying that's bad, but its just not realistic in my opinion.

Agreed, looking back I do believe that they load their musket too quickly. And again, the game won't be fun if we have our enemies taking 20 seconds to reload their weapons.

I'm sorry, but I will rather appreciate it if I'm not called Wooyoo
Also, I'm sure I read somewhere that British redcoats are known for their rate of fire with their muskets, average firing 2-3 shots per minute, and very experienced troops firing 4 shots per minute; and no, I'm not making this **** up look it up if you have to.
I know how muskets work, I've been in couple of re-enactments. 1 shot per 2 minutes is EXTREMELY slow, unless the soldier was not properly drilled.

since when are video games supposed to be realistiv? they are supposed to be fun. and taking two minutes to do all of that doesnt sound too fun to me. so they shortened it.

All he's saying is that Wooyo or whatever was incorrect when he said that the musket loading speed was accurate.

It's not a big deal. If this upsets you, you should probably drink a liter or two of bleach.

The guy above me said that the loading was "pretty accurate". Personally, I think that its grossly inaccurate. I didn't say that the game should be more realistic. As a matter of fact, I like unrealistic games. I was just saying that anyone who says that the loading sequence in AC3 is accurate is obviously misinformed about how a musket is loaded.

Hear! Just about the only realistic thing about the gun in AC2 was the fact that it said bang.
