... You realize that the 'da' in an Italian name essentially just means 'of'? Leonardo didn't actually have a last name, he was just born in Vinci. So the title sounds incredibly stupid as is, but "Homer Simpson of Springfield" would sounds marginally less stupid, but the fact remains he is not Italian and would not be named with such conventions.

i'm italian and "da" in this cases means "by" so the title is legit. your point is invalid, you were right about the fact of the last names but dude...
