Zones are nice to explore but why do that when you can just follow an azzhole in PvP and level up in 3 ******* days.

I level to 20 while exploring , it was a lot of fun , but I found it pointless once I tried PvP , you literaly get 5 levels per hour while doing nothing but following a guy.

Instant lv30 scroll, bam.

Take it to Edge of the Mist, enjoy a ton of hero points and unlock all your skills and traits real fast. While also leveling your WvW rank and getting loot, those low level mats are valueable.
