I know that feel bro. But, it's not as bad as cancelled manga.
When anime gets cancelled/doesn't get another season, you don't get to see the rest of the story animated or will have to wait for it.
When manga gets cancelled, you don't get to finish the story
mfw no D.Gray man chapters in almost a year
It wasn't really sad. It was more happy-sad. A range of emotions. It touches your feels in a new and exciting way. I still get feels thinking about it.
Now you watch clannad and raise the feel bar so high no other anime can ever make you feel like you felt The first season isn't nearly as good as the afterstory so hold out
Ah, I wasn't expecting much of Log Horizon, but it was a good surprise. I don't know if your list was exhaustive but If 2 episodes a week is not enough for you, there are many more cool anime this season ! Kill la Kill if you like action, Golden Time (pic related) if you like rom coms, or Noucome if you want to laugh.
So far Log Horizon is like SAO, maybe a little bit better, it it can keep it's level of quality it will surpass it by far. I just finished watching original Hajime no Ippo series, Deadman Wonderland, Black Lagoon, Mushishi (Awesome!) and Sakimichi no Apollon (Godlike!).
I'm currently re-watching Cowboy Bebop, including the movie, and Trigun.
Aaand I haven't seen any of those ^^
I'm not interested in sports anime so no Hajime no Ippon for me (even if it's said to be very good).
I'm planning on watching SAO, Deadman Wonderland some day.
And finally I keep some anime unanimously considered as "masterpieces" (Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass ...) for when I run out of ideas.
Those genres are not really my favourites so it has to be good for me to keep interest.
I might try it some day too (I'll check the synopsys when MAL stop lagging)
Having heard that GTO anime was not good compared to the manga, I wasn't very eager to watch it, but it is okay as long as it is funny.
I'm more a fan of romantic comedies (Toradora!, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo), or WTF comedies (FLCL, Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka).
Also love Gintama for it mixes all, strong comedy, feels, badass action.
And I also think Madoka is a masterpiece (this is not a subjective opinion, contrary to all of the above)
Clannad ? Yeah, I know ... Not ready for the feels of Afterstory yet
I have 5cm/s lost somewhere on my hard drive. Looks fabulous, but I hope the pace isn't too slow.
angel beats was only sad on the last episode , admittedly i cried like a little bitch , but i like an anime with good drama that will make me worry for characters pretty much the whole way through the anime .
though angle beats is still easily in my top 10
Got done with Suisei No Gargantia just recently, I'm satisfied with how it went. Yes, I know it isn't "done" yet, but essentially they've pretty much completed it at episode 13. And this scene with the picture... It really is on par with if not beats out the Iron Giant ending.
Huh, i never really thought about Ano Hana that way. I just considered it an emotional journey more than a slice of life. Slice of life to me means people going around doing **** all (K-On! etc)
Yeh that's what I mean.
By miserable do you mean the saddest or do you mean the least likable? In terms of actually being sad i'd say it was a toss up between Popo and Anaru. It's always more painful for me to watch the normally happy characters be totally torn down he was the one i felt most for, I also really liked Anaru's shift in character throughout the series so I wanted to see her have a good end so to speak.
I didn't really like Yukiatsu or Tsuruko because they weren't as well developed imo and they aren't the sort of characters that I usually associate with in a positive way.
As to the note im afraid I cant help you with that, i've only managed to watch the series once and I'm sure i spent more time in the last episode crying than paying attention to notes
Actually, the fact why I liked Tsuroko so much is because she was underdevelopped as character and silent. That made the burst out even more emotional, also has to do that I can kind of relate to her problems.
I'll admit, I was busy crying. and because I was still paying attention I cried even more with every scene.
But I had a really bad subbed episode and they subbed the music before what they said. and I think the wiki also messed up on this one. One of the lines in the ending is "We'll meet in august 10 years from now", which according to the wiki is also on popo's note, but it doesn't make sense
You are not alone my friend, anyone who has watched that anime can definitely relate, but if you really liked it, then I can point you in the direction of another anime that might ease that emptiness.
Would you like fantasy? If so, try this one, it's one of my favorites, though it is not complete: Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?
or these, which I found really satifying: Utawarerumono & Kaze no Sigma
If you want more of a scyfi feel then try this: K project
And if you haven't seen it and are up to some heavy feels then watch Clannad and then Clannad Afterstory. Though be warned, the tears will pour when you get to the last 7 episodes of Afterstory.
I hope this was helpful.
If you like them, then check out my list, I recommended what I had ranked as 10, because those are the ones I remembered best. Utawarerumono was one of the last ones that I finished, and it left me feeling satisfied with the ending, which very few anime have. The same can be said for Kaze no Stigma, though to a lesser degree
I have seen date a live, I must have forgotten to put it on my list. I used wallpaper as my list until a month ago when I couldn't keep track anymore. I've noticed a few that I'd forgotten to put on the list. One of them was death note
Mate take a look at an anime Wolf rain, It's frigging great and sad as hell so get ready for a feel fest, At the end you will be able to swim in a pool of your own tears and maybe a little bit of snot.
Oh yeah, i missread you the first time sorry.
The things I liked about SAO
The fighting scenes, colors and high speed.
The romance between asuna and kirito
The consept of being trapped somewhere, with little to no escape
Based on things you liked I might suggest following:
Accel World
Zetsuen no Tempest
Sora no Otoshimono
Shakugan no Shana
Rosario to Vampire
Fate/stay night
Zero no Tsukaima
Kurokami The Animation
and a lot more tbh.
Well, point away! SAO was an amazing series. I feel a little unhappy about how Asuna changed her form to that blue haired girl at the end, but at least she's there. Also, I figured out what Kirito says at the end of the episode. Turns out he says "We made it Sachi".... Dem Feels man.
I loved it over all, but yuki was a ******* retard. So what if you kill a few people on your way to GODHOOD? as a GOD you could save a lot more people. He also provoked a mentally unstable and violent chick REPEATEDLY! How many times did he dig himself into a deeper hole just because he didn't watch what he said to yunno? In fact, how many times did he dig himself into a deeper hole OVERALL?
the little moments that made me say "you dumb **** " detracted from my enjoyment.
pic related.
Also, imagine if the cult leader got the blog diary instead. i can't be the only one who thinks that could have made the story a lot more interesting.
If he had been like that the whole time... and the cult leader had the blog diary...dare I say it?... It could have been better than death note. barring that, an epic psychological thriller.
pic unrelated.
I keep saying that if the sixth had the blog diary it would be better.
think about it.
what could be more dangerous than a cult leader able to give members god like powers of future telling.
