It was alright imo. If the show had better characters (more specifically, if shinji had been a better character) i would have enjoyed it more. Yes there's a bunch of symbolism and shit but that doesn't necessarily make it good or "a work of art" as some fans like to call it. The ending was also confusing as fuck and didnt make any sense (and I am referring to not only the series ending but also end of evangelion)
I give it a 6.5/10 Because it had so much awesomeness in it but also had so much wrong with it.

I wouldn't recommend it, instead I would say to watch RahXephon, as its basically a carbon copy of evangelion except with better characters and an ending that can actually be understood by more than one person.

Anyway, thats just my opinion. *prepares for shitload of red thumbs from evangelion fanboys*

The ending is pretty bad, yeah, but there is an ending movie that "explains" everything, but it just leaves you more confused until you see it about 5 times.

the last three episodes are fillers...they dont actually explain anything you want to know. it has cause epic nerd rage on many accounts.

this isnt about the ending. And i personally found the ending pretty good. Just watch the movie "End of Evangelion" as thats the "real" ending. Otherwise watch Rebuild of Evangelion, its a lot more easy for newcomers to grasp.
