It's always like "oh no, things are attacking" and then she gets her **** rekt. Like, you're the daughter of the most powerful being in the galaxy but you're ******* useless.
Man, it's been a few years since I last watched Gintama. I know I stopped around episode 150 or so. I should probably keep watching it, partially considering how MyAnimeList claims it's rated higher than Caillou Shippuden.

Gintama is full of stupid jokes.
My dad says "it was made by retarded americans for retarded americans". Which would explain its rating.

It's not going to make you feel strong emotions asides from a possible smirk now and then , it's not going to make you question and wonder/ponder about things, and neither will it change your perspective of life. I have watched pretty much every episode btw
The story it follows is the basic "everything back to normal next episode", and while it does have story arcs, they lead to no significant change in further episodes. It started out good, but IMO it bears marks of a writer that is going "HOLY **** I'M ACTUALLY POPULAR, HOW DO I KEEP DOING THIS?!".
It's no wonder Kagura isn't using her strength, the author probably doesn't have any more story-wise reason for the close to non-existant story for it to be present, but people are aware of its existance. He can't really remove it since it's such a strong part of her character, but at the same time it doesn't really improve any story going on, so he's just opting out by ignoring it.
Final note: I feel like Gintama doesn't really improve. It had a decent start, but after that it sorta faded without picking notacibly up. I wouldn't advice bothering with finishing Gintama unless you have OCD amounts of cravings for finishing anime, or you feel like wasting time.
