when you actually know how to play yugioh and you go back and watch the show you will realize just how much the writers were ************ you.

To be honest, the Duelist Kingdom rules and way the cards played was different from the later established rules.
Things got closer to today's rules and regs in the Battle City arc. That is where the rule for level 5 and up monsters requiring tributes to summon first came into play.

Also, as I said, Duelist Kingdom rules were unique, and only vaguely resembled the actual rules. Part of this can probably be chalked up to the fact that Pegasus was both the "creator" of duel monsters, and a bit of a fruit-cake, meaning he could make up whatever rules he wanted to on his fancy private island, and no one could complain.

The picture happens to be one of my favorite of the newer cards.

Well duelist tournament and the island series they didn't have real rules, after that the card game became popular so they actually tried to be somewhat realistic with the rules.

I love how people say that an academy for learning card games is unrealistic while those same card games decide the ******* fate of the universe.

I'm going to repeat the words of an Anon because they make perfect sense (and I was going to say them anyway)

If you watched Gx when you were a child, you're still a child.

Down below you'll see the typical elitist faggots thinking they're better because they watched an older show.

I watched both Yugioh and Yugioh GX, both were very good. Just because you liked an older version of a show doesn't make you any cooler.

And they just thought up rules for their cards as they wished.
That was really confusing to me as a child back then.

So what? I'm 19 and still watched the old series back then.
Collecting the cards and play/trade with friends was more exciting anyway.

I just played with my series one deck against a friend with his newer cards.
The new cards are overpowered. Or I'm just getting too old for this game.

Well many of the newer cards are overpowerd compared to the old ones.
And most of the strong old cards like Raigeki are banned from tournaments or you can have them only one of them in your deck. Thats what my little cousin told me he still played it a year ago.
