Assuming that the knight is wearing plate armor that is, in which case a katana would almost never be able to make it through that.

Japanese soldiers used big ******* spears and giant, studded wooden clubs way more than they used katanas. The katana was a sidearm, equivalent to a modern soldier's pistol.

Japanese animators were heavily inspired by Disney back in the day

Also the stereotypical ninja outfit was used in Kabuki and was not how ninjas actually dressed. Similar to how Vikings never wore horned helmets but they showed up in operas that portrayed Vikings, thus the image stuck.

The Japanese government was a ****** example of humanity at that time. The Japanese people in general were innocent people suffering through starvation, but god ******* damn it. Rape of Nanking. Japan needed to ******* stop, and they might not have stopped if somebody hadn't stopped them. I love Japan. It's my favorite not-'Murica out there. I also admit that Japan has its problems, and was no better back in the day. Hell, the constitution given to them after WWII gave the citizens more rights. And long before WWII, small girls would be sold to ******* brothels and trained to be sex slaves/prostitutes, and it would all be perfectly legal and considered morally correct. I ******* hate it when people get "nostalgia" for the "good old days" when they weren't even ******* alive in those times. It's like when women look at Victorian fashion plates and wish they could live in that time period. Bitch, odds are you'd get married to a dude who rents out 12 year olds in his spare time, or looks at bestiality porn, or beats you up because you didn't cook something right, because that **** was legal for most of that era.
