I guess we're just used to anime-characters with less flaws and not characters like Yuki who are total introverts. Then there's the fact that Yuki turned totally psychopathic/sociopathic in some of the final episodes.
Self-defense is ************* instinct and Ganta from Deadman Wonderland is also a prime example of a guy who'd just stand there and take a beating 'til he, episodes later, realized his faults.
It's just not realistic, imo. But you've got a logic point anyway.
Ganta turned out ******* awesome, though.

I personally wouldn't have sex unless we were going out, and even then I would wait at least 3 months in so that we have a solid relationship that will hopefully turn into marriage.

Essentially, zzforrest hit the nail right on the head. The idea of a sexually rampant male is ingrained in our society, because testosterone is quite potent as a sex hormone. I'm sort of an example of that stereotype, though I do my best to be monogamous and control said urges. Then again, I'm still only 18, so I'm not quite out of the overly-sexual phase of puberty yet.
